Wow, Honestly. I played this game from 2003-2007 back in middle and high school. One of the greatest experiences i've ever had. Tried to go back into it a couple of years ago. Just wasn't the same anymore. Nostalgia kicked in, but no one that I knew plays anymore. This game was truly a gem. I was hated, but I didn't seem to care. Everything just drew me in more than any mmo has since.

Can't hear Theme of Payon without feeling pure nostalgic. Ironically, that was the worst stage on my life, but Payon was my house, and all those friends I made there, my family. I still have contact with some of them. I can't but feel bad for the new generation that probably will never experience a game like Ragnarok Online and all the emotions and friendship that goes with it.

Can't believe after so many years and so many times listened to this song again and again, I still get the same shivers everytime I listen to it! It's funny, I was just thinking going into a private server for the exact same reason. Nostalgia; but just listening to the entire OST does it for me. RO 'was' an amazing game and it had it's time but it's changed, times have changed and we just grow out of it but we don't realize it until we attempt to go back to relive moments that are already gone. The memory of RO will live on within those that enjoyed one of the best MMORPGs ever made.

When I started playing, I wanted an Archer. I met a Knight who recruited me into his Guild, where I met many friends, and even a childhood crush that I've never met since. In the Guild, there was a Hunter. He led me from Prontera to Payon for my recruitment tests. It seemed like such a long journey -- it felt like a real adventure. But there were even greater adventures to come with my friends from the Guild. Thank you, Ragnarok Online. It was a great ride.

Back when i was 10, my dad had been assigned to a different city to work. I was the only guy at home, and school hadn't been so nice to me. RO became my sanctuary, with some friends at the local net cafe. I was the youngest there, and most of the older players there went for either an assassin, a swordsman, or a monk. Wizard and blacksmith were mandatory for retal purposes, so i decided to be an archer. I remember being lost on my way from prontera to payon, and being mugged several times by low level mobs.In a way, a net cafe became my father-figure

11 years of playing RO1 gives such a deep nostalgia, sooo many memories, so many good times, I almost cried when I saw RO2's payon town in ruins, that was so depressing... I used to just afk there all the time and enjoy the calming peace and serenity, even if I only had a hand full of zeny it was a great place to be, and now its in ruins T-T ..

It's been a long time. I will always keep this time in good memory. Leveling, grinding, farming, WoE every week, there was a lot to do. But the best part was sitting in Pron or Payon for hours and chatting, laughing and having fun. I still like to think back to the carefree time with all the people there. Miss you all :)

Now when you join a popular server like LimitRO you get to lvl 100 in less than an hour 3rd class and the few who actually talk and are in Prontera speak Spanish or something... sad :(...

I remembered my time when the Taekwon expansion came out, I hurried to download the client and rushed to become a Taekwon just to see the skill, then when a taekwon girl came.. we became best buddies and had a relationship, had our own party.. the memories of sitting together at in front of the dungeon to chat in bliss.. my god

There was a commercial on german tv with this song in the background. Because of this song i started to play this game. Logged in played 3 days to get a Mage. After that i met a Swordman named AkeN und we played days together to find Payon. On the run we found Anthell and i saw a wizard with heal. I wanted heal soooo bad and we ask where to get it and the wizard took the time and explained us how Cards works etc. Me and AkeN killed two days strait Vitatas with no luck of course :D After we killed thousands of monsters. Over Al De Baran (yes really) we finally found Payon.

I started to built my empire from my harvest from payon (slotted goggles). I wasn't good at the gameplay itself. My hands are slow, and easily get killed at pvp situations. I also don't know how to hunt bosses... But I know market trends and market momentum. My characters are all ugly built, but rich with zennies and rare items. Now, I'm a stock trader, and I know I got most of my early experience in ragnarok online. Buy low, Sell high!

I know many people share the same feeling and probably similar experiences. Back when RO was at its prime there ain't much MMOs present and because of that the world RO offered is vast and plentiful. Many people may not know about this but back then our world was just recovered from post 2nd world war, the economic growth and everything. There were unspoken rules about online world where only people at that time understand, The sad truth came after online world got popularized by masses and even the grandmother next door got online. Online folks that lived before the global online age are suffering from the changes, some got more responsibilities or just starting to work. Many videogame streamers or youtube channels are amongst people from that era where everything seems happy and fun, though I couldn't deny there is dark side of the internet. That's why it's painful when we think about our nostalgia. The world is in chaos folks, we got predatory marketing because of unhealthy economic. Remember when we just don't need to think much about money and food ? When not everything contain ads or propaganda. I want to bring that time back, and I believe everyone here also think the same as me. Sadly I still couldn't find the solution for global yet. My solution for myself is create my own food and if possible fuel and energy, have plenty of time for myself so that I could have a peace of mind, then create artworks and hopefully that could bring back our society.
