Very clever way to use transparent cards ! Jen is surely a nice player : at 8:28, I would definitely have taken the first card to have a temporary monoply on imagination (but it is only because I am a very mean player).

I've been waiting for this one since the March roundup! Great video, thank you! Gorgeous game and mechanisms, components and game play looks really interesting. Follow this game with Dixie or Mysterium... loke you just made canvases for those games, maybe even use the ones you made in Canvas! I do wish the objective cards used in the rundown were shown and described at the beginning. I watched twice and I'm still not entirely sure I understand them. I think I got the gist... certainly enough to get a feel for the game. Thanks again!

19:45 - Uhm, yes you can purchase that card. The three tokens on the previous card are from Player 2. You still have all four of your tokens, which means you could buy it. You'd just be setting up Player 2 to have a surplus of tokens, which increases their purchasing power should they take any of those cards.

Does Space require there to be a space between the two icons? I ask because you have three of the same color icons and then the triangle icon next to them. Wouldnt Space require there to be a space between those icons for it to count?
@rahdo4 жыл бұрын
for each circle & triangle that you can identify that are not adjacent, you score. the space between them can be filled by something else (even another circle or triangle) iirc :)

So this game looks to be merely a set collection game which is played using only the bottom fourth of the cards. I.e., the top 3/4 of each card is totally superfluous. Am I missing anything? On further thought, I could say the same sort of thing about 'Museum'. So that being said, for a 2nd question, would this replace 'Museum'?
@rahdo4 жыл бұрын
this is a more challening puzzle to set collect well, and it it plays in half the time, so those would be considerations against museum i guess :)

Are there any problems with card market stagnation at two like Century Spice Road?
@rahdo4 жыл бұрын
i don't think so, game is too short to stagnate. everyone will very quickly have 5 cards in hand, 3 ofwhich then *must* be played, whether you like it or not

Hello Richard! I can say that the game seems very attractive. However need your answers before backing. Does this reminds you of kanagawa at all? I mean in terms of mechanics. I love kanagawa, but it's a simple set collection game with fairly deep strategy and tactics. I also see soothing like kanagawa diplomas here too. Is this similar? Set collection with some push your luck elements etc? Is there anything else except matching symbols to generate points? In other words, the selection of the prints is driven from best matching symbs or your are somehow free to follow your artistic side to create the most appealing painting? Thanks!!
@rahdo4 жыл бұрын
both lovely set collection games driven by a card draft. i think canvas is definitley the heavier game, as the combo seeking is severaly hampered by the small hand size. and the draft works better for 2. but at higher player counts, i think kanagawa is probably the better package

Forgive me when I’m wrong but the upper part of the card is just some sort of flavour text? What I mean to say: you don’t score points for creating the most beautiful painting. If that is the fact I think that Canvas is just all about having the right amount of icons or the right collection of icons. Maybe I’m a bit too much ‘down too earth” but I really don’t see the ‘woow’ factor of this game. It indeed looks like Century but without the cubes!.

So in a 4 player game, 3 out of 5 cards will not be there by your next turn (you said 4 out of 5). Also you'll probably be closely watching cards coming up when every player draws a new one right? I'm not saying you'll not be bored till your next turn, but there will probably be something to do. There is no player interaction in this so I'll probably pass, but it is an interesting game.

Wait. The first new card that was drawn. Rahdo said "imminent". And that makes sense with the art on the card. But the name written on the card is "eminent". Which makes less sense. Which is wrong?
