10:53 After the yellow tiles are taken, the remaining light blue tile should go in the center. Rahdo caught the mistake at 14:13. BTW, it's easy to tell if something's wrong - if there aren't 4 tiles on a coaster, than it probably means tiles were taken and the remaining tiles need to be discarded into the center.

He always makes horrible moves for Jen on all of his videos. I think he must do it because she always beats him when they play? In actuality, I think he does it to show the biggest variety of rules/moves etc in the play throughs. Gives me anxiety too though lol!

@65Superhawk7 жыл бұрын
He screwed Jenn at 21:25 by putting the Blue up top. The tile would have scored just 1 less if he completed the second row as opposed to the first and having the openness of the board would have helped on the next round. It also would have set her up for the bottom row Red for a column bonus. Since Red came out heavy the next turn (20/20 hindsight) it would have been huge. But the column opportunity Lost was my pet peeve

5:37 Therefore, it is to her advantage to play chicken and wait to pick up black tiles. She should start picking up another color and see if she can get all 3 on her next turn.
@GangrelClaws5 жыл бұрын
Regarding your comment at 1:18, the tile patterns do serve a purpose. For certain forms of color confusion, it can be difficult to distinguish the blue tiles from the green, and the red tiles from either the green or the orange. The patterns make it clear which tiles match.

Howdy. Thanks for the video. I did play the game recently but was confused about some of the rules. Anyway, you did some mistakes. 11:00 you need to put the light blue in the street. 21:15 you need to take both blues 28:30 there is an even number of colors and she is playing, she is not the one that is going to take the 6 reds 28:50 you forgot to take the 1 tile 29:30 those yellow tiles should complete the 4th row. You just screwed Jen. 29:40 one of the reds would go into the 4th row. 30:15 Jens actually gets 6 points. 30:30 you cannot move the red tile to the right because the row is incomplete I hope Jen is not upset :)
@PauloRenato235 жыл бұрын
ALL of those goofs were already noted (and some more that you didn't catch! Like Richard has been saying for more than 1 year at the start of all of his videos (including this one), Please Turn ON the Klingon Subtitles, that way you'll know when he made a Goof, like that one you reported that was already noted there!!

Rahdo, I love how you tell a story when explaining the game. Is the bit about the top tiles being higher up and needing less detail and lower down more detail in the rulebook, or do you just feel that it is implied this is what is happening? Whatever answer I find it really helpful hearing the thematic explanations.
@66morningview7 жыл бұрын
Its very gauche to go out into the street and pick up tiles. That certainly made me chuckle!
@rahdo7 жыл бұрын
hehe, i just made it up as i like to explain rules thematically, even if the original rulebook doesn't. i also made up the notions of "reject tiles" in the "street" as a way to describe how the drafting works :)
@66morningview7 жыл бұрын
I like it. I tend to do this explaining the reasoning behind what you are doing. I wish designers/publishers put more theme into games. I dislike for example; my worker collects 'a die', I then build a building with said die. WHAT ARE THE DICE, WHAT DO THEY MEAN!! haha
@rahdo7 жыл бұрын
i know. it's always surprising to me when designers try to teach me their game at a convention, and they start talking about this mechanism and that mechanism, and i always have to stop them and ask "what does this die represent in the world". i often have to ask that question several times...

Hi Rahdo, I really like your run throughs! But I notice that you keep making more and more rules goofs. Maybe it doesn't hurt to slow down a little and take a little more time for filming?
@rahdo7 жыл бұрын
i make lots of goofs on all my videos. this one just looks like more than normal because the regular and extended are both in one vid. if you watch all my vids through the full extended, you'll see as the filming goes on, more and more goofs are made. but as always, they're just dumb little "forgot to score a point" or "accidentally took 2 turns in a row" type things which don't impact the sole function of the video: demonstrating what the game feels like to play
@staticklingon21826 жыл бұрын
To honestly disagree with you, I always enjoy his enthusiasm for these games, and excitement can cause you to speed up and make mistakes. I usually don't even watch with the subtitles on because I just want to know how the game plays, not the exact rules. The winner and loser of this game doesn't matter. :)
@indef2def4 жыл бұрын
It's sort of a community problem. Imagine chess, poker or billiards being taught to you by someone who had played just a few times! We barely have experts in most modern games, and most of the experts aren't skilled communicators, and just about all of the skilled communicators are novices. This overall situation isn't one man's fault.

if it was at 21:14 it was already noted in the Klingon Subtitles... Like Richard asked at the start of the video (and for all the videos on this channel) Please (always) Turn ON the Klingon Subtitles so you see on screen when he makes a goof like that one. Thanks
@cyrus14696 жыл бұрын
Hey Rhado you messed up at 21:14 EITHER a) Pick all tiles of the same color from any one Factory display and then move the remaining tiles from this Factory display to the center of the table. OR b) Pick all tiles of the same color from the center of the table. If you are the first player in this round to pick tiles from the center of the table, also take the starting player marker and place it onto the leftmost free space of your floor line.

if you understood all other scoring he did up to this point you should also understand this one... he scored it just like he scored all other tiles, the tile that was placed counts for the row and the column, so it counts twice, so a total of 4 points
