It took forever to find someone that played through a game. I don't really care much for reviews because it doesn't tell me much besides that persons taste, but with a runthrough I can watch and determine if I truly like this type of game. Thank you good sir :)

This is perfect. I went to a local board game day last weekend and they were playing this on the next table and I'd not seen it before. I wondered what it was all about, but was too busy being thrashed at my first game of Macao.

Love this game (I think it broke my son's brain the last time we played) and nice to see the expansion at work. The new stuff's quite clever - where's my piggy bank!

I would think they wanted to put the pub onto the main board because it's one of the 'cube' locations on the board, and they wanted to keep all the cube dispersal together in the same place, instead of having some cubes you can collect being off on another board.

At 31:33 "Richard's" family member sneaks into the church without donating time or faith. Another reason he is not chosen for the clergy (although I like Fernando's better). Also, as an academic aside, "Richard" *might* have been able to go travelling in the first round (after the point at which he wanted to travel, obviously he probably could have by focusing on it earlier). If he had gone to the town hall, rather than the pub, first, he could have taken two orange cubes, instead of two green cubes, as his reward. But "Jen" could have taken the plague cube ending the round (although she couldn't use it). Assuming she didn't and used the wishing well instead, as she did in the runthrough, "Richard" would then have three orange to power up the wishing well while still keeping the two browns he needed.

I like the story you are weaving to make this game thematic! I offer another reason why your family member did not make it to the clergy this year...it's because he comes from a family of barflies and brewers, while Jen's family is one of farmers and craftsmen...

I know exactly what you mean. That board sitting atop the other sliding around, just drives my OCD through the roof. I would happily pay for a new board with the tavern drawn in, such is my love for this game.

I played this game 3 years ago and the owner left the country, sadly with his game. I am looking at Amazon but they don't ship to Kenya.

At 8:32 there isn't more green than orange in the world, because Rahdo has just acquired an orange. So there are as many (5 vs 5) except 1 orange is already in his pockets, which I'd say makes orange a more attractive choice than green?

I enjoy playing Village, and the idea of adding the people cards is neat, but I don't like that you have to alter the board. Personally, I find it to be visually appealing, but when you cover parts up, separate out the book and graveyard... eh... I don't think I'll be picking up the expansion

Diego Georgina just seeing this comment and wanted to contribute. During set up (minute 3:00 ish) Rahdo should have mentioned adding a number of neutral pawns into the graves and chronicle to take up spaces marked 3, 4, and 5 for a two-player only game. Doesn't affect the runthrough but would if he played it to completion as that would significantly lengthen play. Also, great vid as always!

Paulo Renato at 16:28 is the first time Rahdo mentions the chronicle. That would be a good time to point out the rules state to place a neutral color pawn in the 3, 4, and 5 spaces.

I don't think it needs to be noted because Richard clearly says that in a 2P game you only use 3 spaces and the other spaces are for a 3, 4 or 5 player game... :)

not sure. i ultimate got rid of village because my wife was just so unhappy about the 'villagers grow old and die' mechanism
