I am not exactly sure what you are asking at 8:15, so I'll just answer some relevant questions. "What are my chances of rolling three failures?" Each die has a 1/2 chance of a fail state, so three failures all at once happens with probability (1/2)^3, or 1/8. Not something you would want to bet on happening, but it will still happen fairly regularly (as you just noticed at this point in the runthrough). "What are my chances of not rolling a 5 or 6?" Maybe you don't want to spend cards. In this case, there is a 2/3 chance of being disappointed on a given die. Thus the probability of all three failing you is (2/3)^3, or 8/27 (a little under 33% for the poor, fractionally illiterate). So rolling three dice you have a strong chance of at least one success. "What are my chances of not rolling a single success two times in a row?" In general, this will square the chance of not rolling a single success once. So all 1-3 for two tries in a row has probability 1/64, and all 1-4 for two tries in a row has probability 64/729 (which is a bit under 10%). However, since you would be asking this right after actually failing once, and that has no affect on your probability of failing again (unless your dice are cursed), having failed once, your probability of failing again is exactly the same as the probability of failing the first time. Also, while I appreciate your stance on dice superstition, and intellectually I understand discrete probability fairly well, I also don't see any reason to believe having dice superstitions should *hurt* my die rolls...

Xenothon Stelnicki Once Demands are revealed, I wouldn't use those demand cards for anything but points or to fix 4s. Never roll them.

so...that major demand, it says a hostage is released AND -2 threat rating. does that mean, he releases a hostage, and then because he is in "S", 2 more hostages would be released for a total of 3 hostages? and then if there are 2 or less hostages remaining, that means you captured him and win?

You should have still rolled at 11:50 if you rolled a zero he would have killed a hostage. Because it is less than or equal to.
