1st round Pinales, superior use of the lead hand hook, better combinations and allowed Rahim to come to him. Gonzales hit better to the body with the stab jab, and a right to body intermittently, but not frequent enough to win. Round 2: Excellent round. Gonzales out guns blazing as we discussed: finding the inside and landing key left hooks and right hands through the body. Pinales rolls with many of these, and lands lefts of his own but they seem to lack zip and steam. Gonzales finishes strong. His round. Spoke too soon, Pinales started counterpunching wickedly, but still can be Rahim’s. Round 3: Pinales keeps smothering, sparsely exploding into crisp counterpunches. But he’s letting Gonzales take him to the ropes, work his body and push him into left hooks. A lot of Gonzalez seemed to hit harder. Pinales doesn’t seem to attack much while outside and take advantage of his sheer size

I think Gonzales won personally, but this wasn’t a robbery - let alone an ‘extreme robbery’. Pinales won the first, Gonzales the second, and the third round was close enough that I could see an argument for Pinales taking it even if I disagree myself.
