No one ever played flute like that and circular breathing, Flute now....whoa

And to think that many people attributed "circular breathing" to Kenny G. SHAMEFUL!! Roland was a master musician! A true original that was way "ahead of his time". He actually could imitate "real bird" sounds on the flute, while playing another instrument in HIS NOSE!

There is something so beautiful about him and his music. He posed how beautiful it is to be a free person and the wonderful things that come from free people ie free style of music.

super groovy, and playing nose-flute. Such good-mood music, so funny. All musicians are great, Roland Kirk on flute and Rahn Burton on piano particularly. Rahsaan Roland Kirk - flutes and saxes; Rahn (Ron) Burton - piano; Henry Pearson - bass; Joe Texidor - percussion; Richie Goldberg - drums

"Wonder wrote this song in 1967 when he was a student at Michigan School for the Blind, recording a rough version and putting into his trusty "tape box," where he kept his song ideas. He wrote the song for his girlfriend at the time, Marcia, and the song was originally titled "Oh My Marcia."" source: Songfacts

Superb musician. Nobody has been ever able to get near him with the flute. Unfortunately he was badly managed and counselled. Some of his antics (playing through his nose) were really unnecessary. Am I too critic of him?
@jlarm3

Damn right you are!!!. You do know he was blind, but mastered the most difficult breathing techniques for horns and nose instruments. When you can do it better, then you can critiize.
