Rahu (North Node) conjunct Saturn in synastry: reality bites

Hello astrology fans :) , here is my take on Rahu-Saturn conjunction in synastry .

I think your interpretation is very spot on. But additionally, wouldn't you agree that there is a strongly "fated" sense to this aspect? Saturn and the N. Node both are tied to karma, so tied together, the two people may have agreed to have this relationship with a soul mate, and precisely in order to deal with the obstacles. Obstacles are character building if you face them and do your best, even if you can't overcome them. Your thoughts would be most appreciated.

Hi, thank you :) Hmm if you are talking about that concept of "soul contract", I really would not know what to say. I would tend to see South Node contacts as more "karmic" as in people meant to meet in this life. Saturn is linked to karma according to some, but I do not really like to think of it that way. I guess that idea originated from the fact that when Saturn is contacted in a chart, by another person's planets or points, the Saturn person feels "bound" , "responsible" and like they should work for/invest in the other person-which I think tends to be true, but I would not link this to karma necessarily. It can simply be pragmatism. Saturn aspects are actually one of the reason why I encourage people to learn astrology-because I have seen many who get stuck into bad Saturnian relationships for years, even decades, because of that proverbial "bonding" that Saturn creates. Saturn just locks people in, does not necessarily imply a high quality relationship, or even a good lesson learned. And North Node contacts are again not really karmic since the North Node shows what you are just learning about in this lifetime. Or in other words, your spiritual lessons in this life.

@@AstroMartine Spiritual lessons in this life would be the essence of karma, although I don't believe in a mechanistic form of this, but rather lessons chosen to be worked on by the soul in the state between lives, usually worked out with soul group members. If you've never read "Journey of Souls" by Michael Newton, he deals with these ideas in depth and was the pioneer in between-lives hypnotism and reporting.

My ex has his ascendant and saturn conjunct my NN and POF, and trine my own saturn and Pluto. My venus trines his NN. I feel we were definitely fated, I knew as soon as I met him. We were together for a long time and have remained strongly connected even after splitting up. We had a strong sense of duty and connection to one another which ended up being a massive obstacle when we needed to break up and distance our lives, as is often healthy to do when this happens. My experience is, yes, he MOST DEFINITELY had saturn and ascendant based lessons to teach me, and they were pivital lessons I needed to learn. We may have not been meant to remain together but I feel we were certainly meant to find each other.

Awesome video. I've listened to two other astrologer's interpretations of this and one is more in alignment with your views. I know that several of the signs of this aspect passed in relationships that I know about so I think you're right on. I am also quite familiar with Vivian Lee and Lawrence Olivier's stormy relationship. It did get progressively worse. And I think the same happened with Pitt and Jolie. But like you said, no aspect is a deal breaker and the rest of the chart must be accounted. I also think it has a lot to do with how each person is in relationship to their own Saturn and how Saturn is aspected. Thanks, great video.

I have this placement with my ex. My Saturn was conjunct her NN by exact degree. We just broke up a few weeks ago. We met because she was an astrology client of mine. We had one session, and continued to talk ever since and instantly felt a connection to one another. but We met a year ago when she was married and separated from her wife, and I was on a break with my partner. I ended my relationship a couple months after meeting her, and she supposedly initiated her divorce like 6 months later. But throughout the relationship we kept fighting about her marriage and her ex which ultimately led to our last breakup. Her divorce process kept prolonging and I started feeling like it was a sin to be together while she was still married. And our mental health and physical health were both declining. We were very on and off over the last year. And we were also long distance, and lived in different states. I HATE this aspect lol I’m praying maybe things can improve and we can get back together next year after my Saturn Return in February 2022. But we’ll see...

I have this natally and had it as a double whammy (in Capricorn) in synastry with my high school sweetheart. He had it natally, too. We certainly faced a lot of obstacles, but it's not true that obstacles "increase" over time. The nature of this aspect by itself is there will always be obstacles in the relationship, but they get easier to deal with over time. It can also show a partner who will help the other build/achieve the things of their North Node purpose. My ex and I were so close breaking through. We had gone to Hell together, and it bonded us like nothing else. I've never loved anyone so much, and probably never will again. That was a once in a lifetime connection. This aspect definitely will depend on how each individual responds to Saturn energy natally. Ultimately my ex was too much of a lying, womanizing piece of shit though, and that's why I left him. I had forgiven him many times for cheating in the past.. I just didn't want to end up with AIDS. It took me a long time to leave him for good, though. The pull is soooooooo strong with this aspect.

Lmao mind blowing I have this aspect along with a bunch of his planets aspecting my 8th house,and yes affair did happen some weird square unrequited love situation and money/distance /lifestyle differences has been a big reason on both our parts for being hesitant. I'm saturn so I do push for stability with him and he's sees it as suffocating i can tell yet deep down I think he finds it reassuring knowing I want to stick around

Thank you for that video. I have a similar constellation with a man. We have never been together, even though we have both been single almost consistently for 11 years. I can only confirm that the problems are increasing. He now lives in a neighboring country, we've been trying to meet since 2013, either it fails because of me or him, or something global comes up, like the pandemic most recently. In addition, his Rahu enters into a conjunction with my Saturn / Pluto conjunction. For me, this aspect embodies "it shouldn't be" unfortunately there is also an extreme bond connected with Pluto through the conjunction.

How about Saturn conjunct South Node (Ketu) both ways? is it better to have this one than Saturn conjunct north node or is just as difficult with a lot of hardship etc..?

I will make a video on the South Node conjunct Saturn at some point, but short answer is that technically it is better to have than the Saturn-North Node conjunction, at least according to traditional vedic interpretations.

Jupiter aspecting Rahu is said to neutralize its negative effects, so I would say yes. Jupiter conjunct Rahu also means that positive energy, joy, spiritual growth and wealth increase between the two people over time.

I actually have been thinking about the differences between composite and synastry for this aspect. To be honest I think it is slightly better in the composite chart because it shows more unity between two people, and an increased sense of purpose within the relationship, but obstacles are likely to appear as well.

His Rahu is conjunct my combust Saturn and Mercury (Sun+Saturn+Mer) within 4 degrees orb and His Moon is conjunct my Ketu within 2 degrees orb :) I don't know where I stand and what to expect 😐 As long as he's passionately conquering all the challenges my Saturn is bringing... I guess if the Saturn is combust...a lot of issues get dissolved as the Sun takes over...so there's a work around there and yes it works out with minimum difficulties... Also my Pisces Jupiter is tightly conjunct his Pisces Sun ☺

I have this, im rahu he's saturn as well as his mars conjunt his Saturn which exactly conjunct my venus rahu conjunction. His Jupiter sextile all of these conjunctions and my saturn conjunct his ketu. We have many pleasant exact aspects. I saw his photo and had instant attraction. We had intense connection and chemistry. Then all the obstacles are there, age difference, ethnicity difference and the physical distance isn't all that much but feels monumental. It's been on and off a year, more off the past 6 mos. But he keeps coming back even though i say im done. Ive never experienced such an awkward, frustrating situation. He says he doesn't have anyone but i feel he still does in his heart.

You probably have the nn-saturn in composite chart. I would say the energy of this aspect is felt strongly. It is up to you to make it work, and also depends on the overall synastry.
