Rahul Gandhi to contest from Raebareli, BJP takes ‘Daro Mat’, ‘Lado Mat’ jibe at Congress
After the Congress ended weeks of suspense around its choice of candidates from the Raebareli and Amethi Lok Sabha constituencies, and fielded Rahul Gandhi from the Raebareli and KL Sharma from Amethi, the BJP launched a sharp attack on Congress' Top leadership, Rahul Gandhi, and asked them not to fear and not to contest. BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, "'Daro mat kahate kahate Rahul Gandhi, Amethi se lado mat'. This has become the new slogan of the Congress party. Today, with this announcement, Congress has confirmed that not a single member of the First family can contest in what they used to call the pocket boroughs of Amethi. BJP national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill said, "Rahul Gandhi has forgotten his own slogan-'Daro Mat' and ran away from Amethi.
BJP leader Rohan Gupta said that they have not decided according to the aspirations of people and voters will give them an answer.
