Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday decided to give up the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat and chose to stay in his family bastion of Raebareli, which he won in the recently-concluded Lok Sabha elections.
Notably, Rahul Gandhi secured victories in both the Lok Sabha seats he contested -- Wayanad in Kerala and Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh -- with impressive margins in the general elections.

Jayaram Ramesh is popular leader in karnataka and he was a minister too.Agreed with the fact Pavan khera is a spokesman for congress ,he has not contested election but he never jumped ship to join other party for not getting a ticket.Pavan has atleast good communication skill far better than Tom who would be a liability even for the BJP.

Why in a country of 1.4 billion they can’t find anyone better than the descendants of Nehru as well as Modi himself (who often seems like a used car salesman); they are all kind of second rate in relation to the great pool of talent that exists. Why was Rahul Gandhi assigned the Bharat Jodo Yatra? No one else could do that? I say as an outsider having the same heritage. R Gandhi does seem to have developed some good experience and skills though he seems to overshoot on timing of BJP criticism. But India and its parties need to develop more worthy leaders.

Sanjay Jha and several leaders of congress are of the opinion that without the family brand congress is nothing. This thinking only made the party to touch its low and almost zero in few states where meritorious local leaders are sidelined with leaders obedient to family. Thy hype that the Rahul Priyanka duo will do magic is a mere dream. If any government performs people will vote and the family brand has now become empty. Already Priyanka Gandhi proved she is not effective in UP in earlier elections. Even now without Akilesh Yadav Priyanka could do nothing in UP. Congress still in a situation in several states to take whatever offered to them and not able to dictate terms to regional parties.
