Essentially it was revolt against Amit shah in UP , the SP highlighting - promotion of Gujrati Business men in getting major tenders in Ayodhya and Varanasi and other cities somewhere demoralised UP Cadre . So disenchantment resulted in cadre not coming out to counter “khatakhat” and abolishment of reservation resulted in such loss .

I am from army background and seen for years SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION army personnel who didn't get pension. Some of them selected for permanent commission and others went out without pension.
