Raiden IV is on PC via Steam bro, and this one looks better than that game, but being a game made by a little japanese company that still make shmups is not a big deal if the graphics are PS2 style. I will enjoy it when it is released on Steam and PS4 for sure

I don't understand... I've got the English version on Xone, and in many occasions I kill the enemy quicker than you (for example on the mega-tank, or the 3rd boss), still your multiplier is often over x5 while I struggle to get over 2x... What I'm missing here?

Now I've never played this game (even though I really want to, but don't wanna own a XBone just for that) but I think when you use the cheer support, it reduces the multiplier to x1.0 as a cost no matter how fast you destroy enemies. I'm not sure if it's permanent until the end of the stage.

Perhaps they have learned to make a more compressed or 'pure' crystal to get the same power as a bigger one but need less space? I mean some of those eariler crystals were pretty damn big.

I just get a information By iconoclast It only depends on the percentage of enemies you've killed during a stage. According to that percentage, you'll get different routes in the next stage (or may remain on the same route). The routes are ranked from S (the best) to C (the worst). Stage 1 only has one route. Stage 2 has two routes (2-A and 2-B) Stage 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 have four routes (S, A, B and C) Here is how it is calculated: Percentage of enemies killed of 98% or above: you rank up in the next stage. Percentage of enemies killed between 90% and 97.9%: you stay on the same route in the next stage. Percentage of enemies killed under 90%: you rank down in the next stage. And as for the S route (the best one), once you are on it, as long as you kill at least 90% of the enemies in each stage (from 90% to 100%), you'll remain on S route. By pressing LT twice while playing, you can change the left part of the screen and see your game datas and the percentage of enemies you've already killed in the stage you are doing.

The music is for some reason a lot more dramatic then all the previous Raiden games. It's not really Raiden music anymore in my opinion?! It sounds more like a Touhou game?? :(

The arcady upbeat music from the previous games was in my opinion one of the biggest selling points for the entire series! It was at least the main reason why i started playing the series! :P

This new game is crap IMO, too much distracting crap everywhere, unnecessary voices and characters. Go Sato must return for Raiden. no exceptions. nobody can compose like him. Raiden IV has awesome music, updated while keeping the Raiden feel (As Go Sato returned for IV) but this? Ehhh I'll go back to 1-2-DX. I understand that this game moreso mirrors the Raiden Fighters spinoffs but for the love of GOD please hire a better composer, this is so generic and boring. Instead of all those characters and needless GUI sections, you couldve made larger stages, fit more enemies, and had BIGGER bosses. This game is so lazy i dont know why it bothers me so much, i guess it's an injustice to me. *shrug*

I'll play as a Devil Advocate here. I don't think this game is all crap like you've described. Too much distracting thing everywhere? Well, this is a bullet Hell so what the frick do you expect? Oh wait you're talking about the UI too? Nah... it's not that distracting either, except the dialogues text that is The music? It's not terrible and generic. At ALL. What do you smoking? Maybe your taste in music is just different because the majority that I've seen were truly liking the music in this game, including myself. (For example: Far Journey and Unknown Pollution) The only two negative aspects that I could think of are the graphic and the EN VA. But even with that, the VA can be forgiven when it's switched to JP. Even though I kinda hope UFO and MOSS could improve the graphic even more (like those concept art that they've had) So let's be real here. This game is not lazy. It's tried to adapt into something new and I think it's working, for the most part. But it's not as lazy as you argumented three years ago
