Tax Tiers on Sharp XE-A21S and XE-A201 registers

This video shows how to reset the registers, Add tax to Tiers 1-4 and how to add the tax tiers to the department keys. To skip reset go to 5:30 of video for Tax info.
The below is the programing of tiers 1 to 4. In video I hit the @/FOR after putting the tax rate in but that is not needed if you are leaving lowest taxable amount at 0.

The manual is not as far off as it seems. It is just hard to understand. Once you know what you're doing with it the manual becomes much easier to read and understand.

The XE-A201 is the same exact model as the one I have except for the digital part has a different cover. They are identical programming.

Great video - my problem is when I give a customer a discount the cash register charges the tax on the gross amount not on the discounted amount - any ideas what I did wrong?

The steps following 10073.... at what point are you 'telling' which Tax Tier is assigned to a particular Department? Different departments are assigned different Tax Tiers.. I am not seeing where the tier is being selected for assignment. Thank you

If you are still wondering where the 10073 comes from, I figured it out. The number is actually 00010073: The 1st number is whether you want to use vat4 (0 = no, 1 = yes) The 2nd number is whether you want to use vat3 (0 = no, 1 = yes) The 3rd number is whether you want to use vat2 (0 = no, 1 = yes) The 4th number is whether you want to use vat1 (0 = no, 1 = yes) The 5th number is whether you want to immediately want to finish the transaction (like pressing CA/AT/NS) or to continue (0 = continue, 1 = finish) (usually you want to use 0 and just press the CA/AT/NS button) The 6th number is whether the number is positive or negative (0 = positive, 1 = negative) (you probably want to actually charge people, so leave this positive) The 7th number is the maximum amount of numbers the transaction can have (range from 0-7 default 7, 7 would give you maximum 9,999,999 dollar) The 8th number is the allowed types of inputs (3 = all, 2 = only pre-set values, 1 = only open values) (if you are not sure, just use 3) It took me some time to figure this out, but this video together with the manual made me figure it out eventually. Your second question I can not help you with other than telling you that it can be converted into foreign currency, but only with an exchange rate. The symbol would probably be a Euro... otoniel, use the following formula for clerk names - #/TM/SBTL - 5 - . - *line number(clerk 1-6) -@/for- Clerk name - #/TM/SBTL - CA/AT/NS

How do you set up a tax rate on just one department and not the others? I need a tax rate on Department 3, but not on department 1,2, and 4.

I am sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I did not get any notifications. You can click on the 5:30 and that will bring you directly to the tax tier part. Instead of putting 1 in for the tax tier just press 3. And set that specific one however you need to.

When I give a discount the tax is still charged on the gross cost of the item not the discounted price. Is there a way to fix this?

+Replays since 1990 I moved to China, so I no longer have the registers or the book. A simple solution is to use a calculator to get the price you want. Once you know what you are going to charge, just punch in the price and hit any key that is set with a tax. It will then charge the tax for that amount. If you are not charging a tax, you can do the same thing, just hit a key you have set without tax.

I am not exactly sure of your problem. If you changed the paper and it still says it then you hit the clear button. After that it should be fine. Otherwise I do not know what to say.

Make sure all the basics are correct such as the roll of paper is in place correctly, all things are secure and then hit the cl button.. Also be sure the key is turned into the correct position. Other than that I would not know what to tell you.
