The only reason I see this happening is because they want a head coach and general manager on the same page and footing. Telesco was not a great GM he let JJ go to Green Bay and said raiders would be able to run by committee. Also signed minshew didn’t trade up for a qb and honestly, Brock bowers wasn’t even a target for Telesco and he fell in our lap. Wilkins was going to the raiders regardless so telesco is better evaluated by the time he spent with the chargers.

You know Tom Brady told Davis to fire AP and Telesco. I'm sure that's what happened. Raiders needed several years to come back from the hole they were in after Gruden left and then unwisely didn't give Bisaccia a chance at HC (who has flourished as assistant HC in Green Bay) and brought in the horrible McDaniels who ran off Derek Carr. I guess this move will make sense if they have a winning record next year but clearly the Raiders have been a s**tshow for a very long time now.

I think firing Tom Telesco without securing a new Head Coach "First" was a huge mistake, for it implies further instability within the organization. With the exception of letting Josh Jacobs go, hiring Getsy, and bringing in Minshew, Telesco did an outstanding job in the NFL Draft, in addition to ensuring our salary cap situation is one of the best in the NFL. If anything Davis should have waited unless he was assured that a HC prospect guaranteed they would sign with the Raiders "first", not all head coaching prospects have required that they bring in their own GM with the exception of Ben Johnson. And I don't think Johnson is a shoe-in, in terms of being a good Head Coach. He may be a great OC but it remains to be seen that he can be a great HC. Vrabel is and we're not even interviewing him, he hasn't signed with New England, we should have brought him in for an interview. The fact that we haven't tells me the Raiders will blow it in some aspect once again.
