If it is true - as you say - that people see The Northman and think ”That’s just like The Lion King” rather than ”That’s just like Hamlet” it’s kind of heart breaking. Cultural dawn…

The lion king did hamlet better than hamlet did hamlet ( I am a Shakespeare hater 😂)

and people who saw hamlet thought "this is just like the story of Amleth"

Ahh, I'm so excited! I was about to watch the Lighthouse and the Northman this week in preparation for Nosferatu. I have seen the Witch but I wanted to catch up. Couldn't have been better timing, thanks you guys! ❤😅

This could'nt be better timing. I just watched The Lighthouse yesterday, and The Northman over the weekend. Both for the first time. Nothing but 5 stars in his filmography so far.

Robert Eggers is one of the most exciting filmmakers in Hollywood over the last 10 years. Really hope he carries on making folklore/historical movies, because we need more films of that type. He’s masterful at it. The Witch is a decent debut. The Lighthouse is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. The Lighthouse should’ve been nominated for lots of Oscar’s in 2020. The Northman was very good. Can’t wait for Nosferatu, looks fantastic. Robert Pattinson said around the time The Lighthouse was coming out that he got approached by Eggers for a role in one of his unmade projects meant to be a medieval fantasy film. Really hope it gets made one day and Pattinson is involved. Really hope he tackles a pirates project or something like a western would be pretty cool. Anything Eggers does I’ll watch.

I have the utmost conviction that Robert Eggers' Nosferatu, which will be officially released this Christmas, will be the best seductive and oppressive gothic horror film in history. Doing justice with extreme justice and honor, an excellent pragmatism to classic films, whether from Universal and especially F.W.Murnau's 1922 German Gothic Expressionist Nosferatu and also its remakes, one in particular from 1979 with Werner Herzog as director. And Klaus Kinski as Graf Orlok and that's why I could call Vlad Dracula

Nosferatu is going to be insane I can just tell but he way it being presented I’ve been avoiding all the trailers to avoid spoilers since I saw the teaser. Even if it’s a slow burn like the witch I can’t wait 😊

Robert Eggars is one of those precious few ditectors whose movies I will almost definitely see if it has their name on it. All three of his released movies are excellent. The dedication his movies have to being true to the time, places, people, and cultures being depicted gives his stories a level of immersion and creative integrity that few other modern movies of their kind still have. All three movies are in my top 5 favorite movies of their respective years of release. My favorite is probably The Lighthouse, followed by The Northman, and finally The Witch, and I think all three are great. I maybe would have considered seeing Nosferatu without him, but with Eggars as the director, I'm definitely going.

His films don't always land with me (I didn't like The Lighthouse) but holy shit all of his films are amazing looking and he doesn't pull any punches regarding weird creative decisions, and you have to respect that. Also. I'm only 4 minutes into this upload. Unsubscribed. I hope this hurts you in the algorithm.
