When I lived in Roseville in the early 90s, the 1990s, not the 1890s, we kids would "train hop" some of the freight cars being moved around the yard, so we could get to the other side of the small downtown area faster, or ride over toward the Denios and run along. Dangerous as hell, I do not recommend getting close to the trains or hopping on or off them. Serious injuries and death can and will happen.

95678 Zip Code. Northern California, Sacramento Metro Area but different county. It's the last major city before you head up into the Sierra Nevada and on to Donner Summit, Lake Tahoe and Reno Nevada. It has the largest railyard in the west, has been for over 150 years actually. Started off a small little railroad town that grew over the decades, however the 30 years from 1990 to 2000 the city population went from 35,000 to 112,000. In 1973 the neighboring city, Antelope and part of Roseville were completely destroyed when bombs being transported to Vietnam, aboard a train, exploded and set off a firestorm and shrapnel delight that leveled a huge chunk of each city. Was rebuilt and here we are today.
