This video shot in March with New England Rail Videos and mbtafan1062 showcases the afternoon rush hour trains speeding through South Boston's Forest Hills Station. We caught every single type of MBTA locomotive currently in revenue service and received lots of nice horn blasts. We even filmed a 4-Way Meet! Hope you all enjoy!

As a former Noo Yawkah, I chuckled at this comment. Forest Hills is the southern terminus of the Orange Line on the Boston subway. The station is also served by the Needham line of the commuter rail system.

Grace Nauen Track speed for MBTA is 70 or 80 Amtrak is about 125. As far as standing is concerned behind the yellow line (about 2-3 feet away from the platform edge; I stand about 6 feet away) is safe. A high level platform is safer than a ground level one

This is Jamaica Plain-Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. The perspective of the trains coming toward us w/ the Orange Line tracks to your LEFT is OUTBOUND trains (4 heavy rail tracks)..... 4.1 mi out of Back Bay Station, w/ the Amtrak Acela's already in excess of 100mph. They reach over >140mph through the Readville neighborhood (still inside Boston's City limits) before slowing for RT128 Station in Westwood. Once pulling out of RT128, the Acela's deal with a sharp curve alongside Sharon Station (135mph restricted) before accelerating to ~150mph/241kph from Foxborough through Pawtucket, RI. The Avila Liberty's are run up to 165mph through this stretch.
