Nice seeing all 4 tracks in place and busy on the curve, MO and AR towers, and of course the incomparable Penn Central paint scheme! It was glorious

Also, a glimpse or two of MG, still open continuously if this was shot before November of 1978.

Thanks for sharing this. I wish we still lived in an era when freight cars weren’t defaced with spray paint vandalism. I have pictures of trains at horseshoe curve in ‘92 & in the cars still looked clean.

William here. So blessed to hire with and catch the end of Conrail. Taught to railroad by the best. Miss that mountain so very much. Once the NS happened, everything changed for me and I left at 28. Have had an adventure of a career and Still railroading at 47. TY for putting this up. TY for all you do and letting us go back in time.

Conrail, Penn Central, and Cabooses still have value. Although they're not seen anymore like they were seen in the past.

It's nice to see what MO looked like back then with the Pennsy Signals. Especially the eastbound signals mounted on the bridge carrying the jump over track across the mainline. I find that very unique.
