Daft that Pontypridd Station is not wired 'as it's a listed building'. The masts sit between the tracks and there are bushes growing next to the bay platform so plenty of room for masts there without touching the building.

I’m not sure that’s the real reason. I suspect it to be down to cost to be honest with you. They’ve had to cut costs in the latter stages of the program due to considerable overspending. The complexity of the junctions at Pontypridd would mean that electrifying it would be comparatively expensive, the same goes for Queen St to Central.

@@NiceDiscotheque But gantries are appearing south of Queen Street. We'll have to wait and see.

@@juliansadler6263 South of Queen St isn't a particularly complex junction until the end of the ramp at Central, so would be relatively inexpensive to wire. Also don't forget the Bay route is to be wired so the masts could be for that route. The plan is though for battery op through Central and Queen St.
