Rain in the desert shofar

The shofar is an alert. It is the sound of God's voice. It is used as a call to repent, to assemble, to move forward into battle, as a call to halt evil, and as a celebration sound of the coronation of the king which is a picture of the celebration for those who are written in the book of life when The King of kings returns as the conquering Lion of Judah. The shofar is also used to announce the presence of Elohim and it is used in worship. It is sounded here from my small view as a sound of praise and worship and prayer to my Father. By His Almighty mercy and grace, the shofar as it is heard by you is tailored to what Abba would have you hear. This, how Father is directing you, sanctifying you, I do not know. At various times the hearing of the shofar is perceived differently. In Faith, we should always be moving forward. As we surrender to His will, we are hearing more clearly His call, voice and instructions. What was heard before has become the shadow, but what we are to do now should be continually becoming more clearly defined as we allow God to direct our paths.
But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when you walk through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Savior;... Isaiah 43:1-3
Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? Can you point out a SINGLE verse Jesus or His apostles gave concerning playing the shofar to do things you all are claiming? Doesn't say every knee shall bow and every tongue confess to the shofar - but to the name of JESUS/YESHUA. Lawnmowerman Boxcutter A 42-46" yemenite shofar. Ajuidaca.com has fair prices, good shofars that are kosher. This one is 46" and came from them. Pray that God makes you his instrument. He is going to want all of your heart. Also I recommend a small to medium rams horn at least 9". Get them both Pappa may allow you to be his hands and feet to an orthodox jew who God is calling into His great light. Pray about sounding the alarm. Sound as an act of worship. I have a leading that you are going to really sound and worship Him with the trumpet. Ask Pappa to confirm that it is His desire for you. Then go and sound. Sound first always for God with a thankful heart. Sound for little children and at jr high and high school bus stops in the morning and share Jesus. He is love, joy, truth and light. Holy Spirit will give you the words. Blessings

I can get close to three good notes ringing out, but how do you switch tones in the same breath? There's surprisingly not a lot of videos on KZbin discussing nuance.

That is great! The sound of each note that you are already getting is going to improve with practice. If you can sound in a place with good acoustics like a larger room with high ceilings or a parking structure, you will notice that certain tones amplify more then others. The ones that echo more and seem to expand the most seem to sound the best in my experience. practice sounding with less effort. There are some times when you may want to sound as loud as possible but a lot of shofarists tend to overblow where if you pull back a little, use just a little less effort the notes sound better. You can also experiment with sounding from the center of your mouth or as many do from the side of mouth. If you are blessed to be able too sound from the center and not the corner that is great. It seems the best sound is from the center. I sound a little more to one side but am now sounding a little closer to the center. Tighten your mouth as you are exhaling/ blowing. In effect you will be making your mouth opening smaller. With a new shofar I often check sounding it by turning the shofar a little and sounding, then turning it a few more degrees and then turning again. The current shofar I have the best notes come out with the bell-big opening facing somewhat down. You probably know this, but to sound you want to get the air from near your diaphragm so that after practicing for a while you will feel like you exercised the muscles just above your waist. The shofar is probably both not a musical instrument and it is. I like listening to the french horn and trumpet, but sounding a shofar doesn't equate to any other instrument, and if you started to try to sound it like any other instrument, you would arrive at the conclusion that you should purchase a trumpet or coronet to play music. Last advice is that changing your mouth shape and positioning your tongue in a different spot will change the tones a bit. One other thing is that probably to get a higher tone then you have gotten so far, you will want to start blowing with the smallest opening between your lips that is possible. You may use a hand to keep the air contained to only going in the shofar. So one hand will circle the shofar while contacting your lips. Later on you will be able to sound the highest note by switching notes in the same breath. Keep practicing! Pray with regards to your sounding. Everything comes from Him and is possible because of Him. The Holy Spirit is the best nuance helper.

No one else can sound the way that you sound your shofar, if you know that and are grateful for this, the sounds from your shofar will be very distinct. If you practice consistently and are prayerful and desire that God gets all the glory, there's no limit to how Father will bless your sounding. I don't think there are many people who have a mindset for shofar. I am motivated because the shofar surprises me and I also feel like I haven't figured anything out yet. So that before I go sound ( practice and minister unto God) I am thinking that "maybe THIS is day I will finally get that note right for the first time ever. Shalom Brother. The joy of the Lord is our strength.

Sandra Esquerra greetings Sandra. the shofar is used to scatter and confuse the enemy. the shofar can halt the pursuit of our enemies which is to say that powers and principalities can be stopped. There are some powers principalities and rulers of wickedness which may be stirred up and annoyed but the shofar itself may not cause them to leave. The very best weapon that you have against the enemy is the Word of God and Jesus. in some cases prayer and fasting is required as well. you want to immerse yourself or drench yourself in the Holy Spirit in God and Jesus you can do this through prayers through worship and praising him and you will want to be around other believers with whom you feel comfortable sharing in difficulties you are going through. it will bless you two have Elders or pastors pray for whatever afflictions, attacks and/or trials you're currently dealing with. you can play praise and worship music. I love my praise and worship music to include scriptures or to be very in line with what the Bible says. Here are a few scriptures that are good for you to be repeating and meditating upon. (see next post...)
