When I started this project all of the leaves were green and now I find myself surrounded by the colors, and temperatures, of fall. This means that winter is approaching and with it comes rain & snow. I need to get this thing dried in ASAP!
Before we can do that I have to do some more framing, sheath the walls, and build out the front porch of this shed. The porch ended up being it's own adventure as you will see. Only when all of that is complete can I move onto sheathing the roof which is the first step to creating a dry structure.
With 24 hours on the clock I needed to sheath and waterproof this shed - alone. Can I do it? Is it a crazy? You'll just have to watch and find out!
Excited to see the progress so far but we have a ways to go, please consider subscribing so you can follow along as I build this over-the-top-bougie-shed.

You can. Just do it. You're going to screw up, but you're also going to learn so much. I never thought I could do anything like this until I bought a house with huge unfinished basement. It irritated me that there was so much wasted space, so I finished it myself. It took me 6 months working every night and most weekends, but it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. The feeling I got when I walked downstairs and saw that space and knew that I did it was like nothing I've ever experienced before.

Things become so much more *doable* when you realize it's all a series of executable steps. Solo DIY projects like these can look downright insurmountable as a whole, but I think most can picture themselves completing each step in isolation.

Take the encouragement, most trades work is not that hard. If you can build Lego with instructions, you can build a house(pretty much). Finding the instructions is the hard part, and this video is not the place to find instructions. Take this guys ambition, but find another video and how to build proper. Realistically its not that bad, but this roof line was ambitious for a beginner. If there is one thing an ambitious home owner should know, is to "Keep it Simple Stupid".

I once had a boss who had this really elaborate dog house and subsequently a very spoiled dog. One day, we were picking on him over his wife spending so much on this dog and he gave us great words of wisdom. “Build the nicest doghouse you can, one day you might be living in it while she cools off”. I know why you’re building this now. Well played sir. Lol
