Hello Sarika, I’ve came across your video while searching the ideas to cure the mug painting. My question is can we use Fevicryl or camlin acrylic colors - which we use for mdf base dot mandala art - on mugs and then to bake it ? No need for any special colors for mugs ?

I didn’t know, that I can bake acrylic colors on cup in the owen. I painted my cup with the acrylics without baking and when I Poured hot water in the cup, I could feel that the paints are very soft on touching. So it means, that when I would press the colors with the finger it will come off. I use now porcelain colors and bake them just to be sure IT stays on the cup. Even metalic porcelain colors are ok to bake IT. ❣️

I think so. It should be fine for 20 - 30 seconds. I don’t use microwave so I don’t have experience about it.

Yes you should use varnish when paint is completely dry. Paint will not go with varnish.

yes you can bake in convection oven. 30 min at 150 degree celsius.

Whats the difference between normal coffee mug and ceramic mugs? How do we know whatever we are buying is ceramic or no? Can we paint on normal mugs

Mostly all coffee or tea cups are made of clay. Just they are made of different types of clay and baked and glazed differently. You can paint on any ceramic cups. If they are breakable on fall that means they are made of clay and you can consider them ceramic. But in India we get plastic or melamine cups also. You can paint on them but can not bake them.

These are just regular acrylic paints like camel and Monte mart I have mixed with pouring medium.

You can sun bake them for few days. Usually acrylic paints will not wash off from cups if they are dry completely. Leave them in the sun for a week.

You can use old oven but keep the temperature very low. Around 100 degree Celsius

This paint looks good. I would recommend that you paint one mug and bake it according to the instructions and see how it goes. I use all kinds of paints on mugs and I don’t get any problems. It is good if you hand wash them and don’t put them in dishwasher.
