Ok you should so do a boulder only river scape in the 8ft with lots of flow with a big group of rainbow shiners and hilstream loaches!😲 Just like a wall of boulders and pebbles with scatter gravel (no sand) and some power heads And obviously plants 😂

Beautiful tank! I got my first aquarium after watching many videos here. I went with a heavy planted 15g and not too many fish for low bioload (7 harlequin rasboras, 3 otocinclus, 1 betta). I like to use larger filters too, it means less work for me! The plants are really helping and it's such a nice hobby.

GUYS! brilliant but use the spray bar at the surface, or point the outlet at the surface to create ripple effect. Otherwise you'll get that oily film on the surface. Plus the surface water movement always makes a tank look better.

I got the 20gal hex, after watching another vid about the bowfront and it having a plastic bottom I discovered the hex has a plastic bottom as well. Im not too thrilled about it.... I haven't set it up yet.

I haven’t kept a tank in 13 years ( discus tank and African Cicilds and Blue rams all in different tanks of course ) due to living with in-laws and they have cats had to get rid of my tanks and fish. Now that I just bought a house I can’t WAIT ! I just wish I had a shop like Matt’s near where I live. His shop is Fantastic, I’ve never kept a planted tank but after seeing your videos I am soooooo doing it. Im thinking a Amazon bio rope maybe black water with rams and neons. I don’t know yet, I just know I’m doing plants. Thank you for your channel !

Hey MD, I have been watching your channel for a while now, ever since The Buddha tank set up. I am a very big believer in the Eco tank, low tech, no CO2 and low-fuss-low-maintenance set up. I love the content you are making. I have one request from you please. There is one thing missing from your videos, although you do make mentions every now and then. What ? you may ask. It would be really useful if you gave us an idea of cost when you set up. I know this is not truly representative because prices will vary from one country to another but my experience shows this is all relative ; £1.00 = $1.00 = EURO 1.00 ... etc. Either way, we as watchers need to have a representative value when we want to replicate your projects or make our own. The main areas needed are the plants (including when you recycle or use trimmings - we don't all have multiple tanks), tech and inhabitants because beyond this, rocks, wood and other hardscapes are random. Why is it important ? We get a better idea of how to budget for a project and when we get going, we do not endanger the inhabitants. On an educational level, I think it would be useful to give us your water parameters you have. We all have different parameters and this has a definite effect on the plants we can use and this should also be mentioned. We would also really like to get tips and tricks (preferably natural) that can be used to get water parameters right - harden and soften water PH, raise or lower KH and GH, etc.... Thank you for the content, it is trully awesome and inspiring.

Very clean looking tank guys. Great for a display tank. The scape isn't to loud or busy but still beautiful. It allows the fish to b the focal point. More fish shops should have a tank like that. A lot of ppl don't realize how different fish look when u put them in a planted tank. Great build guys

I used landscaping slate in my tank you get so much more for you money buying from the landscaping section you can always smash it into smaller peices at home once you have it, Also Elden Ring is the best game ever made
