Fnatic said that playing for such a crowd is absolutely amazing. Looking over their screen seeing thousands of Rainbow Six Siege fans going nuts is really special for these guys. Big crowd, big hype, how can that be bad? Sure a bit biased to see their home teams win, but the same happens in NA or EU.

I've been thinking about the operator bans and I realized there's a problematic situation with it. Before the operator bans, Liquid was very dependant on Lion (it really helped them win against Penta) and they got punished after the bans were implemented. Penta - even though they complain a lot about Lion - used him against Liquid and were not effective (so, for example, Liquid is either good countering him or Penta is not effective using him. So Penta either needs to grow on how to use him or Liquid grew by knowing how to fight him). Now with the bans, Liquid needs to grow as a team and learn to be effective with other operators. G2 on the other hand are now very dependant on BANNING LION and are NOT beign punished for not knowing how to deal with it. G2 is not being pushed to grow as a team and learn how to fight Lion. That said, my idea is that a team CANNOT BAN THE SAME OPERATORS ON BOTH MAPS. That would make operator and map bans much more strategic and would force teams to grow and become better. Of course, G2 and Liquid have their merits and I used them as examples, but all of this is valid for future operators to come. *PS: I used the effectiveness of using/fighting operators as a supposition! I am not affirming exactly what G2 or Liquid knows or don't know.* What do you guys think?

Liqiud was and is the best team to use Lion. they have won PL with Lion and in this season they won every match when playing Lion. while for G2 Lion is a problem they can't ignore since he is basically a counter to G2s fluid play style. But the best thing ESL/Ubi did is banning Lion from competitive play since even they admitted that Lion wasn't built for PVP but for PVE. Also here is a story about Lion from Pengu: "Fun story, during atlantic city proleague finals we were practicing I believe fnatic, Fabian who was playing Lion on coastline at the time had his monitor go dark, and he called admins to fix it. They LITERALY unplugged the monitor, carried it away, and we played 4v5. But fabian was still ingame, and we thought hmmm he could just press middle-mouse button when we tell him and we win, right? So we did. 1 early lion charge to gain map pressure, and 1 lion charge upon rushing bomb-site and boom, we just won the entire round 4v5 with a player missing his monitor. it was easier than playing 5v5 without the lion infact. ( true story, we talk about it all the time )"

Operator bans are not problematic in anyway. They force teams to be adaptive. Good teams benefit from the bans and bad teams struggle with it, which further reinforces the skill gap between good and bad teams. This is definitely a good thing. Lion is an insanely overpowered operator who doesn’t belong in the game. Why does Lion have the highest ban rate in PL? Lion narrows the skill gap between good and bad teams. This is a very bad thing. Lion takes no skill to use and he offers terrible teams a lot of benefit, while offering very good teams little benefit. The more fluid your team is, the more powerful Lion is. Look at G2 for example, Lion specifically hurts the best teams the most. I’m sorry, but you don’t have a clue what you are talking about. There is NO way to counter Lion. Liquid is not a great team to begin with, and now with the operator bans, their true colors are coming through. They struggle when they can’t play OP operators because they lack the talent that other teams have. Nesk is the only decent player on the team. Zig, Psk and Sexy were especially garbage. They ran Blitz, Ying, Lion and Dokkaebi together ffs. The most broken operators in the game...
