all 5 movies are fine in their own way but… Ice Age: the adventures of Buck Wild is not canon to say the least… I could easily say this is the worst animated movie Disney has put out, and that is saying something since Disney is bringing out more and more terrible films. The plot follows Crash and Eddie, not Buck. The voice actor for Buck was the only person to reprise their role in the movie. The characters from ice age 4 and 5 aren’t there (Peaches, Julian, Sheera, Granny, Brooke) despite it being a sequel to ice age: collision course. The animation was absolutely awful compared to the rest of the 5 ice age films. The voice acting was absolutely lazy and lastly INCLUDES THE ICE AGE BABY IN THE BEGINNING OF THE MOVIE

With that said, I'm much less opposed to 3 than the ones that came after, it still has a lot of heart in it - and you can sort of excuse Manny being dorky because he's opened up again after 2 and moved past his trauma from 1. It really doesn't help that they just never seem to address the events of the 1st movie though, so when everyone stagnates as this comedy group with dumb pop culture references it's just hard to see the characters that I think where genuinely engaging in the first movie.

Before the 4th movie they weren’t technically stupid but just daredevils/thrill seekers but yet at the same time sometimes cowardice when it came to serious issues due to their possum nature. You can see that is their personality in 2nd and 3rd movie. Sid was supposed to be the dumb but thoughtful funny one, the possums the adventurous daredevils, and Buck the crazy funny one. By the 5th movie they were all just dumb.

I think it made sense for Manny to become an overprotective dad to Peaches. The guy lost his first wife and kid to hunters.
