This song holds a portal for me, it has the ability to take me back to a time where I really did feel like I had no one besides my dog. I was fighting a war on a ship that was already sinking. It's been a long time since then but the fact that I can still recall how I felt with her whether it was happy or sad through a single song shows that this is a masterpiece.

First time I heard this song, it was 6 years ago when I was in a really bad place. I was in love with my ex, so much that I though it was for life and after I gave her everything I could, she cheated and left me standing alone with no one by my side. Broke, without any money, I was still giving away everything I could... it was really tough. Now, I am a proud business owner, met beautiful girl 4 years ago that became my fiance, purchased a beautiful home for us to live in, making more money then I ever did and having a best person in the world by my side... because of this song... it helped me go through the worst part of my life, listening it on repeat and for the first time in my life I didn't feel alone in this world, with these feelings. Story time: There is this one girl I was really close with. I had this other friend. We used to play Fortnite and it was fun. Hearing her laugh was the best and enjoying the moment playing. I remember she used to be the one hitting me up. Asking me how I was.how I’m doing.anything bothering me. This girl was very close to me. I’ve never met someone like her. I got a girlfriend and said she didn’t like her.I tried giving a explanation that me and her were just friends and nothing else. I lost the argument and I had to drop her. i was so stupid.i was a dumb friend. I unfriended her on all social media. A couple months later I decide to see if anybody I didn’t have as a friend wanted to text me on snap. She texted me. She wanted to see if everything was okay and if I was okay.i couldn’t get the guts to text her back.i blocked her... that was during summer. School started again. I saw her. I wanted to go talk to her so bad.i couldn’t. Then we got the same class. I was so sad that I couldn’t talk to her because of my girl. But one day I said fuck it. Slowly but surely I started to talk to her. I knew our connection wasn’t the best but I still wanted it to get better. Over time our connection got better. All we did was talk in class. Didn’t text yet. One day I was talking to my girl then she got brought up in the convo. I was able to convince her to let me be here friend again. (She didn’t know I was talking to her) and I was happy. I added her on all social media again. I didn’t text her until a couple weeks later. It seemed normal at first all was fun. As the time went by, it started seeming like she was ignoring me. She would take longer then 45 mins everyday to open my message and kinda respond dry. I was so sad and thought she was wanting me out of her life. Then for Valentine’s Day she wrote me a card saying “I love you with all my heart and thank you for being there always” I got so much happier. She made it for me the heart letter with her writing.i was so happy you don’t know. But then over text she seems like she’s bored of me. leaves me on seen. Once she took a whole day to respond but she left me on seen...i was hoping she would text back.she never did. I asked her again if she loved me just to make sure. She said yes with all her heart. She was happy me and her relationship was getting better. I asked her to hangout with me sometime and she said sure. I’m hoping she doesn’t bail on me when the time comes.The more time that goes by I feel like she’s losing interest in me.im not her close friend that I used to be. To me she’s still my closest friend I have.i love her a lot. I tried my best for us to get better but she doesn’t seem like to be doing for us to get better. I told my other lady friend about this she said “she’s probably just busy” and I thought that at first but I started thinking about it. No matter how busy a person is, if they truly care about you, they would make time for you. She never did that. Leaving me on seen and taking hours to respond to something so simple. i go to bed thinking if she’s losing interest in me while listening to this song. I keep trying tho. i won’t stop. I care about her so much I will do anything for her to be happy. It went from both of us hitting each other up first to just me. I know it’s my fault. I dropped her. This is literally the story of what I'm going through right now. My relationship history is bad. I find someone then lose it. Now theres a girl in my life who I love who I truly believe loves me too. She met her bf before she met me. But I got them together. She became the love of my life. My soulmate. Its one of those gut wrenching destinies collide type things. Found this song a couple years ago after my 1st bad break up & liked it as a song & also found solice in it being a break up/love song. Back after an amicable split and it hits so much harder as it's so much more accurate. I relate completly with him through out the song, pretty much everything but the woman having another partner aspect. The inner turmoil of wanting what you believe is best for them & your intense feelings towards them, them constantly being on your mind & only them. ... Also the ex in question that makes this song more accurate can sing beautifully & her 1st name is Elizabeth, which just adds another layer for me.
