Yes. You can do it. If you have to precipitation data as well as Location for that rain gauge station for that areas which you have to derive the rainfall mapping using ArcGIS tool.

As per your project work,You should be plot as monthly rainfall mapping,or it is yearly mapping.The rainfall mapping is monthly or yearly but it is required raingauge station details..like a latitute,longitude,Name of raingauge station etc..Then you fulfill the complete rainfall pattern mapping in ArcGIS.ok

use IMD dridded dataset for rainfall, you can calculate daily, monthly, seasonal and average annual rainfall and visualize into ArGIS using IDW or kriging
