We left and took everything home. The trailer is against my well house with a camper trailer on the other side. I have the well house strapped to the trailers that surround it. We will need water and I need to save the well equipment. I live in eastern manatee co and as if the posting of this video, the projected eye path is coming directly for my location. My house is specifically built to survive this event. The damage will be widespread and massive. C y’all on the other side of this beast! 🫡

An ounce of prevention is worth a pounding headache. Best case scenario, let's hope that he emptied out the shop for nothing and everything is going to be left unscathed when the storm passes over. You know its serious when the Police chief comes on TV and asks for people who plan on riding out the storm to write their names on their arms with a permanent marker.

@@IR-nq4qvwhen you stay near beach about to be eaten by ocean, expect to be eaten with the beach. It’s an occasionally unstable place to live, and you have to leave to stability. These storms can rearrange real estate on those barrier islands.

@@camelid In the mountains in north Carolina, not only were people's houses wiped out but so was their properties and also the roads , the place was left as though it was never inhabited. So awful to think about with all those people still missing

Praying for you Ray. You've become a part of life for me. August 21 my liver decompensated and I was bed bound, wound up having a transplant. As I lay in the bed waiting YT started showing me your videos. When I was so week I could barely focus your videos gave me something of comfort as I yearned for my days in a shop. And then as it went on I saw honesty and integrity, such a rare thing these days. And a great joyful personality! Even my wife has gotten into watching. When she heard about Milton she asked if you were going to be okay. Praying for you here in NC.

I'm pretty sure you're far enough inland that you won't get storm surge where you are, but it's good to move things up in case you do get flooding just from the sheer amount of rain. Stay safe, and see you on the other side.

I lived in East Bradenton, not far from your shop, 30th St E & 51st Ave E. Manatee Oaks subdivision. Just East of New 301, for 27 years. Moved to Indiana in 2017. I lived in Florida once for 6 months. I discovered that it takes a stronger person than I to withstand all of the things that one has to adapt to down there. Hurricanes, gators, microscopic insects and heat and humidity. I'll stay up here in MA where our biggest problem is getting snowed in, which is kind of fun. Good luck to all of those who chose not to evacuate.

Except for a 3-1/2 year stretch when my male parent was dodging creditors, I have lived all of my 5+ decades in Massachusetts. I will accept the snow. If you're snowed in, it's a great time to eat the ice cream!

You don't lose house or flood damaged in snow storm, but just hunker down and rarely lose power. To be honest, we get more rainy days than snow in winter in last 5 years here in upstate NY. Change has been drastic enough to notice. I rather deal with any bad Winter over sweltering summer and annual hurricane.

I have seen some of the live footage of the winds preceding the storm crossing one of the bridges, i will never moan about the UK weather again! It went from a bit rainy with some wind, to batshit crazy within seconds! Stay safe Ray, hope you, Lauren and the kids all come out the other side unscathed! The storm looks like one for the history books! Let’s hope the damage is minimal!

Insurance is a must. Even if the water itself doesn’t touch it, the owner has to pray the mold and salty residues won’t kill it later on.

Pro moving tip for ya Ray, keep a small metal road sign in your trailer. Lay it over the end of your ramp, and it will help gettin heavy wheeled items over the lip. You and the wife, stay safe, be careful.

As someone who has lived in SENC for a long time and has gone through many hurricanes, I don’t envy you. The older I get, the less I care for storm prep. It’s so much work. Got my fingers crossed for you guys.
