Also, starving slugcats have an extremely thin tail in relation, implying the tail to be where slugcats store food reserves (similarly to some real-life lizard species, perhaps)

Indeed! The tail muscles of a slugcat would probably be quite strong to carry the tail off the ground, since in-game the tail just gets dragged, which isn't really accurate to how an animal with such a tail would move (except lizards).

Absolutely love this lil’ animation! The small bounces as this lil’ goober walks are amazing! On a side note, the slugcats have infiltrated my brain and they won’t stop until every being on earth knows of their existence.

i hate to say it but the tail gets dragged across the floor, it's implied to kinda be a fat reserve rather than something with muscles in it and it's really heavy so it'd have to burn a lot of energy just to keep it in the air

Slugcats are kinda rotund in general, their thighs have alot of length to them, and it does make sense that the tail is a fat reserve with how **rotund** it is but it definitely can lift up in the air, they are seen doing that when a lizard approaches
