Now, THAT’S how you start a vid, man that striper was pulling the boat, they’re some muscular fish, I thought you would never get it in, great vid all around Dana, enjoyed it 🎣

Thanks Chauncey! This super strong cold front has the fish shut down. It's going to be awhile before things get back to normal.

Nice that first one was putting a pounding on your reel and line and you!! I hear your line sounding off as he pulls out the line, it's funny I just put clicker drags in my three baitcasting reels they work great. Nice gloomy day of fishing sometimes there the best!

Thanks! The Stripers like the nasty weather days.

Man if I ever get a chance to target stripers I will know how to start from watching your videos, and watch for the birds to show me where the bait is. Great looking fish on a windy day Dana!!

If you've never caught one, you need to. They are surprisingly strong, even the small ones.
@mullisoutdoors4 күн бұрын
@ I have caught them and hybrids on accident fishing for largmounths before and they are crazy strong, even the small ones, but I have never targeted them. Honestly I never knew how till recently..🤣🤣..Thanks for all the wisdom Dana!

We get out when we can, weather isn’t a factor….sometimes anyways. That first Striper was a beast and he inhaled that jig. Think he wanted it ? Man I wish we had Stripers up here.

I’m kind of a weather geek. You think you could mention date, temp and wind at the start of your videos. There are days I don’t go out because I think it is too windy or too cold. Maybe from watching you do it would give me some motivation that it’s fishable today thanks love the show.
@FCPFishing3 күн бұрын
I usually do mention the temp and in my intro, I'll try to remember to say the date and wind speed. I usually am fishing on very little sleep, so trying to remember stuff can be difficult! All of my videos are filmed within 5 days of when they are aired, so they are very up to date. I am a bit of a weather geek myself. Thanks for watching!

Great video. Do you think the stripers are moving up into the river or coming out? I’m trying to figure them out on Allatoona. Thanks.
@FCPFishing4 күн бұрын
They are starting their migration upstream this time of year. Maybe not all the way up river just yet, but definitely in the upper reaches of the lakes. Usually by mid January they are in the rivers looking to spawn.

What size hair jig do you usually cast?
@FCPFishing3 күн бұрын
I make them from 1/16 oz all the way up to 3/4 oz. It all depends on wind speed, depth, etc. I try to use the lightest that I can get away with.

I have two older Humminbird Helix units that are over 10 years old. One of them only works sometimes. They both have tiny 5 inch screens.
