I know you worked at a coffee shop, but those non-professional home-barista type of machines are a bit different, you should use a more coarse coffee grind (not to clog it, if you press/tamper too hard) and fill up the portafilter with more coffee than how you did in the first try when you showed it, the espresso that came out seemed too watery. Also, try out different coffee roasts, a medium one is always a safe choice, because a dark roast tastes too bitter to some. Hyped for your coffee content as a home barista!
