There's only one coffee shop in this little town open in the evenings, but lucky for you it's your favorite spot. The door chime tinkles as you walk in. The warm air momentarily fogs your glasses; when it clears, you look around the room. Everything is homey and familiar. The lighting is dim and cozy and the air is thick with the nutty scent of roasted beans and the sweetness of milk, sugar, and cinnamon. It's a quiet night: perfect. There are plenty of available seats, including your favorite one near the window. You like to watch the people walking by, although they are few and far between on a rainy night like this. You settle in with your notebook and a cup of something steaming; you reflect on the fact that you will in all likelihood order a piece of cake from the display case before the night is over. You watch the rain streaming down the window and let your thoughts begin to wander. . .* 🦉👋 Hello relaxed person that read my story - thank you! Do you enjoy this type of video? Calmed By Nature; Beautiful! I really love that the jazz music is a bit louder in this video! The rain is still a bit fast - but that’s okay. I really like that you can faintly overhear the other patrons talking. I haven’t heard any other coffee shop sounds... maybe I will as I listen longer. Oh, and I totally caught your logo on the backpack. 😺🖤

Glad you like it Nancy. The coffee shop sounds are pretty faint and you can really only hear them with headphones. I personally don't like those to be too loud in the mix but that's just my preference. There are some quiet stirring sounds and chair squeaks but they really aren't the focus. When you say the rain is a bit fast do you mean it sounds like it's raining too hard or something else?

Some 10 years ago I ran a shop with my mother. I remember days like this. The people who came in were nice, always the same handful of regulars with the occasional new person who was just passing though. On days like this the rain seemed to keep the difficult people away. At the end of the year they would bring us cookies and coffee, we would do the same for them. We kept the prices low, because almost all of our regulars were like family. They would stay and tell us stories of their travels, the best of their lives and their troubles too. We were always scraping by, but somehow it was okay for times like these. This brings me back to what feels like a fleeting time that has long since passed. The store closed eventually, but I find it hard to forget all of the people I loved.

No one really understands the love given and received in certain small businesses. I sold bicycles as a youngster for commission and people’s happiness... while the set up was different I loved bikes and fought hard for people to “never” let their new bikes collect dust... I was like the soup Nazi in sienfield... but a bike Nazi... hahaha... only friendly... When a sale was made it contained pure happiness for the customer and me... win win... Anything you and I do with “the care” contains “the beauty”... Yes your shop was the delight... but it’s not just that store and building... but your energy too... You can do it again. Maybe not that shop... but that care and respect and kindness and skill ... mediums changes but love is love. ☕️ 😉

I agree with you guys. The attitudes that have become the "new norm" was mentioned as part of the last days in the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:1 says, "But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. Notice it says last days, referring to an end of a time period. Things are promised to get better. Revelation 21:4 helps me cope where it says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

What's really lovely here is the balance between the sound of the rain and the volume, and tone, of the music; it sounds muffled, as though it were playing in a different room, whereas the rain sounds as though it were pattering against a window. This is gentleness, calmness, tranquility in the best ways. That it goes on for eight hours or so is sublime; there's little better than a soundtrack against which to grind out hours at work, which also serves beautifully as a soundscape against which to sleep. Thank you.

When I was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, there was a small upstairs cafe in the Ginza called the Blue Note. A few tables, a bar and windows overlooking the street below. The owner was a jazz buff and there was always some Miles, Duke, Ella, Cannonball, or Dizzy playing in the background. I liked nothing better than to sit by the windows with a milk tea and a meal, write letters home, read or just look out the windows, frequently at the rainy streets below and just daydream, realizing I was exactly in the right place, at the right time of day, to enjoy the moment for what it was. Some thirty years on, it's hard to believe there was such a place on earth. I know the Blue Note has closed down, and I've never found any place like it here at home. But this is a nice little illusion of that moment for now. You even got the backpack right. :)

There's this perfect time in your life in your 20's when you're FREE. Maybe you're single. Maybe you're in college. But you're in your 20s and you're on your own. You need to value this time in your life, its very important. Do the things you want. Go where you want to go. Live in the moment! If you see a quiet coffee shop on a rainy night and you're walking past it by yourself, go in there. Sit down. Drink a coffee and read for an hour. You'll never forget it. Put your phone away. Get away from the screens. Once you get seriously involved with a partner, start a family, get busy, get a job that freedom you had in your 20s is suddenly gone, it dries up. And sometimes fast, and sometimes you don't even see it slip away. You won't know where it went. But you'll find videos like this and reminisce about a time in your life when you had the freedom to sit in a coffee shop on a quiet rainy night, and miss it. You'll feel nostalgic about it.

Beautiful sentiment. You see, though, some of us see the internet a little differently. While it brings good people together, the internet is also the sticky substance that binds all of the hateful and insane people of the world....culminating in little stunts like the one you saw on January 6th in our nation's capital. The internet is nothing more than a tool. You can use a hammer to build a house for a family....or you can kill the family with the said hammer. Lately, our internet has been badly abused by liars and whack-a-loons. And most people have stopped thinking for themselves. So, once again, while I love your statement, it's not reality,.Jan 6th was. Someone had to say this. Might as well had been me.

As I stepped into the cozy coffee shop, the welcoming ambiance embraced me like a familiar embrace. The delightful aroma of freshly brewed coffee permeated the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly put me at ease. The mingling scents of roasted beans and sweet pastries tickled my senses, tantalizing my taste buds with the promise of indulgence. In the corner of the room, a man skillfully played the grand piano, his fingers gliding gracefully across the keys. The melodic notes danced through the air, filling the space with a tranquil symphony that touched my soul. I found myself drawn to the harmonious melody, finding solace in its peaceful rhythm. Approaching the friendly barista, I placed my order, and with a smile, she swiftly prepared my chosen drink. I found a seat on a tall stool near the window, its worn wooden surface providing a sturdy foundation. Gently placing my green backpack with an owl symbol in the center on the floor, I settled in, taking in the mesmerizing view outside. Through the rain-streaked windowpane, the city unveiled itself before my eyes. The droplets cascaded down the glass, distorting the bustling streets into a soft, hazy painting. On the wooden table before me lay an open book, its pages gently fluttering in the breeze. I noticed it was opened to page 87, whoever was before me was here for a while, that i could be sure. Beside the book, a flickering candle cast a warm glow, its soft light accentuating the intimate setting. Unexpectedly, a freshly brewed cup of coffee sat untouched, seemingly abandoned by its previous owner. With a curious smile, I took a sip of the unclaimed treasure, relishing its bold and robust flavor. The rich black coffee enveloped my senses, awakening my taste buds and providing a momentary respite from the worries of daily life. As I savored the free coffee, the barista called out my order number, drawing me back to the present. I approached the counter to retrieve my drink, grateful for the small moments of serenity I had found in this bustling haven. Returning to my seat, I settled in once again, eager to behold the breathtaking view that had captivated me mere moments ago. The stool beneath me offered a surprising comfort, its simplicity reminding me of the beauty in ordinary things. With each sip of my ordered black coffee, I allowed the rich flavors to swirl on my tongue, indulging in the simple pleasure it brought. In this haven of warmth and tranquility, the weight of school and life's challenges melted away, replaced by a profound sense of calm that had eluded me for far too long. ________________________________ I was captivated by the image of a cozy café in this video, and it inspired me to craft a delightful story set in that enchanting location. Whatever you may be occupied with while listening to this, I wish you the best of luck, and may you find peace within these hard times, God bless.

As I stepped inside the cozy little cafe, a melodic blend of lo-fi and jazz music filled the air, instantly wrapping me in a soothing embrace. The raindrops tapped rhythmically on the windows, creating a symphony in harmony with the melodies, and I found solace in the peaceful atmosphere that enveloped the room. The patrons inside seemed to have formed an unspoken pact of tranquility, each engrossed in their own thoughts, books, or conversations. It was as if the rain had cast a spell, calming everyone and inviting a sense of serenity. The ambiance was one of camaraderie and respect, with gentle smiles exchanged and hushed conversations that added to the overall tranquility. I approached the counter, where a barista with a warm smile greeted me. As they prepared my coffee, the aroma of freshly ground beans wafted through the air, adding to the comforting ambiance. With skilled hands, they carefully crafted the perfect cup, pouring the steaming liquid into a porcelain mug. As I took my first sip, the rich flavors danced across my tongue, sweet and enjoyable. It was as if the coffee had been designed specifically for this moment, to be savored amidst the symphony of rain and music. Finding a comfortable spot near the window, I settled into a plush armchair and gazed outside. The rain cascaded down the sides of the windowpane, creating a mesmerizing display of nature's power. The world beyond was a blur of muted colors, a surreal canvas of gray and green, as if the rain had washed away the worries of the outside world. Time seemed to slow down as I lost myself in the moment, appreciating the simple pleasure of being sheltered from the rain, surrounded by harmonious melodies, and embraced by a community of kindred spirits. In that little cafe, I found solace, respite, and a momentary escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. And as I sat there, watching the raindrops dance, I realized that sometimes, the most beautiful moments are the ones where we simply allow ourselves to be present and enjoy the sweet serenity that life has to offer.

For some reason, melodies that soothe other people or even get them in party mood make me really sad so I'm really picky with music I will put on while I study; this is perfect. Love how the cafe noises are very authentic sounding but recede into the background while the rain is much more immediate - as if you're sitting in a private nook away from the buzz, right by a thin glass window gently tapped by raindrops. Everything nowadays is so focused towards whats popular and new that you barely have time to process whats happening. I with that there were more places that were like what you said where people like me could just sit back and get away from the chaos that is going on on the other side of the walls. A place where it was okay to sit back with a cigar and just relax for a while while reading a good book or come hang out with friends on a day off from work.

Reminds me of the coffee shop that I sat in years ago by a window, writing and reading, with a pay phone near enough that I could just reach over and use if a call came through my pager. I had no idea where I was going in life and was mid twenties. Yet these eternal moments echo with me still some 30 years later. So much has happened but...I can again sit at that window and just...watch and feel the eternal moment then merge with this one. Some of the best things in life are...simple enjoyments and pleasures. Thanks for making this.

“Hi there!” the young barista says from behind the counter. “What can I getchya?” “Uh, just a drip black please” he says, looking around the room as if he were meeting someone here. “Comin’ right up” the barista responds with a smile. He shakes his umbrella off a bit, and heads to an empty table near the wall. He tosses his hat on the table and takes a seat. The smooth jazz playing over the speakers does little to soothe him. “Here you are” the barista announces as she sets his coffee on the table. “Cream and sugar are right there. Can I get you anything else?” “Oh, no, I’m fine, thanks” he replies. “Wow, it’s really comin’ down out there, huh?” she remarks. “Yeah, it is” he says, as he grabs the hot cup and holds it both hands, feeling the warmth penetrate into his bones. “Well, let me know if you need anything” the barista says as she heads back to her counter. He takes a cautious sip, the heat radiating as he swallows. He sets the cup down and checks his watch: 3:27pm, still a few minutes to wait. He pulled out an old paperback from his jacket that he has read a thousand times and opens it to page 146. He blankly stares at the page, more as a way to help settle his nerves. The bell on the door rings. He jerks his head up expectantly, but it's just a young couple dashing in the door laughing. The barista quickly joins in their excitement and takes their order. He buries his face back in his book, idly turning the page. After a few flips, he checks his watch again: 3:32pm. He goes back to his book, his leg bobbing up and down under the table unconsciously. His mind continues to race. Where was she? Had he said something wrong? Perhaps it was just the rain gumming things up. That had to be it. “Just take a deep breath, everything will be fine,” he reminded himself. The doorbell rings again. He pops his eyes up, and this time he sees her, darting through the door holding a newspaper over her head. She tosses the makeshift umbrella into a trashcan by the door, brushes down her overcoat to knock the water off, and looks around the shop. She spots him, smiles, and starts to head towards his table. He stands up, waves, and smiles back awkwardly. “Oh my gosh, sorry I’m late” she gushes. “Haven’t been here long myself” he replies, and motions to a chair. “Would you like to sit down?” “Oh, thank you.” She takes the seat and looks around the shop. “Wow, this is a nice place. Can’t believe I haven’t been here before.” “Yeah, it’s a great little getaway spot. You’d think it would be crawling what with being on Stater Ave, but somehow people just walk on by. All the better for me though.” “Plus, the drinks are pretty good here” the barista mentions, as she magically appears at the table. “Can I get you something?” she asks the lady. “Yes, please, can I have a raspberry mocha?” “One of my favorites, be right back!” the barista says as she journeys to her coffee contraptions and starts the grinder. “So…” the lady says as she looks at him. “So…” he says back. The both smile and half-laugh. “Sorry, I’m not terribly good at this,” he explains, embarrassingly. “It’s actually been quite some time since I’ve done this” “To be honest, same here. I never know what to do, or what to say” she says. “Well then, let’s start with: how are you?” he asks her. She smiles, looks him in the eye, and says “I am just fine. How are you?” she asks as her smile widens. “I’m fine too” he smiles back. They share an intimate gaze, which gets broken up by a drink delivery. “One raspberry mocha. Anything else I can get you two? We have some pastries in from Breadknot” the barista offers. He looks up and smiles at the barista, then back to the lady. “I think we’re okay for now, thanks.” “You got it. Let me know if you need anything.” The barista says as she walks away. The lady grabs the cup with both hands and breathes in a deep whiff of the coffee. Her eyes roll back. “Amazing” she mutters. He holds up his coffee cup. “To coffee” he says. “To coffee” she replies, as they clink cups. She takes a sip, and immediately shudders as she burns her lip. They both chuckle, as conversation starts to flow more easily.

Just found this "place," stopped in to get some work done, and I've been happily productive for about three hours now. Aside from that ad at the beginning, no interruptions! LOVE the music, the ambient sound, the subtle animation of the background (thank you for keeping it subtle, but extra thank you for taking the trouble to add it and dial it in perfectly). I'll provide my own chai latte, made just how I like it. But it would be awesome if I could order something from the glass-covered baked goods... and I can't find the tip jar... Seriously though, if you have a tip jar on your website or something, post the link. Right now (July 2020, mid-pandemic, in North America), what you've provided here is nothing short of a public service. A mental health service. A blessing to writers and authors and entrepreneurs everywhere. If I can't tip the barista, at least I can tip the artiste.

Within this long dark and lonely street. A tired hazed of blue that covers this well-traveled road. A warm glow, a beacon within the storm beckons to you A place to rest, to find shelter from this chilling storm. A soft bell rings as the night's chill melts away The rain, softly taps against the windows, like a smooth melody You take a seat, by the window, watching the world as it passes by. As you watched the world pass by you catch a glimpse of your reflection staring back. Soon your tired thoughts turn back inward, reflecting on the past. Thinking of the family you left behind, the friends you've made, the love that you had lost. You reflect on the pain, the joy, the love, the sadness. Every little thing that happened to you. You stare back at the tired man in the reflection, looking deep into their weary eyes. You begin to wonder about the what-ifs if you had done things differently where you would be now? Are you proud of the person you are today? Are you happy with the life you made? Questions run through your tired head. Questions for answers you can not find. The scent of roasted beans and cinnamon clings to the air, like a long-forgotten lullaby Perhaps, in the end it doesn't matter if you find the answers you seek or not. A nostalgic feeling washes over you, as your thoughts slowly drift away. Drifting away on the cinnamon, washed away from the slow melody of the rain. Before you realize, you are drifting away in the music, losing yourself in the calm. On a dark and long travel road. There sits a small coffee shop. Its warm dim glow cuts through the hazy blue. Welcoming warmth and the scent of cinnamon awaits all those seeking shelter from the rain It's peaceful and quiet, a respite from the chill of the storm outside and weary travelers. The scent of cinnamon, the warmth, and the rain gently tapping against the windows They form a soothing symphony for weary souls. And before you realize it, you are asleep, your reflection looking back with a satisfied look. For, in the end, it does not matter, as long as you keep moving forward with your life. You will be alright.

i worked as a barista for a little over a year until the pandemic hit, and had to leave my job because of it. i love being a barista. relaxing in a cafe is such a good experience but i think working in it was my favorite part. i loved connecting with the customers the most, seeing the same faces walk in made all the bad experiences of customers and stress fade. honestly theyre what kept me going sometimes, i'll never forget the time after work i had an hour long discussion with a regular who gave me his vespa a few days later. ive worked a couple other jobs in my life but none ever brought the same joy being a barista did. its what made me fall in love with the science behind coffee, drove me to learn as many brewing techinques as i can. i would even bring out samples of blends and do a guided tasting to customers who were interested in expanding their pallet. its amazing how many people never realized how a different blend could change their whole coffee drinking experience. i know its cliche, but every single day i dream about my own coffee business. i know i'd be lucky to own my own actual store front, but for my current goal i just want to roast my own beans, create my own blends, start a cute coffee cart. itll be a lot of work, ive even started business classes to make sure i know what im doing going into it, but i know how stressful coffee carts and cafes can get and I'm more than ready to make it my life. i love discussing coffee, teaching coffee, learning coffee. every time i start a pour over i learn something new about myself and the beans, the way they behave and want to be treated, how a calm hand and respectful movements dancing with the coffee will collaberate and bring out the best flavors. thank you if youve read this far, i definitely appreciate your time and interest. if you want to talk more about coffee or just discuss some stuff id be happy to chat with you friend!

If you ever need someone to talk to me let me know. I suffer from anxiety and because i didn't control it for so long i now have heart failure at 35 but it's ok I'm still alive so that's always a blessing. I hope you're doing good.

Why is it sad? Do you not visit the farmers market anymore?

I am a middle school teacher. We are still teaching virtually during this time. As my students log into my class, I have this playing on the screen. My kids love it. It is so calm and relaxing for them. Thank you for this :)

Before the pandemic, I never had problems with maintaining focus. A year in... well, I can barely focus on anything at all. I've been using this video for about two weeks now. Listening to it, I can actually focus on note taking and calm my anxiety, at least for a little while. Thank you so much! It's making me miss my Friday outings to my local teahouse a little bit less.

I hear ya... I feel like I hardly remember what a coffee shop is like now... I'm glad this was helpful for your anxiety and focus. Have you seen my other cafes and coffee shops? I made a collection of these if you check out my "cafe ambiences" playlist on my channel page
