Very entertaining, but also very dangerous... when the cranes front wheels lift off the ground everyone knows you are supposed to jump on the front bumper for counterweight. I don’t even see a counterweight guy on your crew? I would recommend that you learn standard safety practices , and I would have to say great job in “ adding square footage by reusing /recycling materials “

I love this song. Looks like a great project. Who did you have to call? Section company? How much did he charge for the day or 2 days? Thinking about doing this, just never knew how much it would cost... Did you have to talk to an engineer? What kind of permitting was needed? What's intricacies involved here?

I live in oregon… multnomah county; the permits were closer to $12k… the crane was the least expensive part… he wanted $150 an hour a total of $300… but i have him more than double that from beginning to end i spent $33k… appliances, hvac… all in.. and i don’t know what you mean by “who did i have to call” or “section company”

I have a carport I'm looking to raise the roof so I can install a lift, I was looking for atleast a 5-6 foot raise. Is this the only way to raise the roof? Who can I go to or contact for this. Surely its a specialty? I couldn't find any companies here in Washington by google, maybe I'm searching the wrong thing..

I’d need to inspect the roof sheeting; the trusses… and you’d need a yard big enough to set the roof on the ground while you did the framing… but yes… i build in NE Portland; my home is just east of Gresham, in Troutdale… same county as NE… same codes

its a one bedroom apartment; we rent it out. The Land Use and codes in our area allow for Additional Dwelling Units (ADU). The build cost us roughly $35k; because I'm contractor and was able to do a large percentage of the work myself. Probably cost more than twice that if I had to pay someone to do it. We rent it out for $1,100 per month, it took a little over three years to pay off the money we put into it, and now it covers roughly half our mortgage payment.

I assume you want to do this to get an RV in or potentially a car lift... are you wanting to hire it out? or you want to know what it would cost you to DIY it... There are a few video out there for what you are describing. ... I just sent you a link... if you are asking how much I would charge; I would charge time and material... there are way to many variables to bid this up front... including the weeks it would take to figure out the method for the lift... are we crane lifting? are we jacking the trusses up from the inside... what jacks are we using? there are a few methods... @@stoneyswolf

What it cost me to do myself to my own home... I drew my own plans; submitted to the city took several months and under two thousand dollars to get thru plan review and system development fees; my total material cost was around $35,000... this was before lumber went up 400% please remember I am a contractor... and this was a project on my home.. so there was no labor cost; I believe three years ago (when I built this) it quoted $75k-$85k to build this for someone else... and now with labor/lumber/material price increases you would likely have to add $10k... so right around $90k again... if you are handy... you can likely do it your self for $40k... but if you bring in pro's its gonna cost ya

@@andygainer my best friend is a contractor who is very helpful. I’ve been eyeing a house with very low cieling! I’ve been thinking wonder if it’s worth it to knock out 2nd floor Raise the cielings down below and rebuild 2nd floor 🤷🏻‍♀️ Would it be worth it. I can buy the house for like $210k

@@bugajk25 I dont know where you live exactly so dont really know the market... but if you could buy a house where I live for $210k I would jump on it in a heartbeat... market here in Oregon; Multnomah county is crazy right now... we paid around $300k for 1,700 sqft home; 4 years ago... After I built the ADU we had the home re-appraised; at $460k... The permitted and rented out ADU (additional dwelling unit) over the garage raised the value of the home that much... you should really talk to two or three realtors; and reach out to a home appraiser in your area... I really dont know..

@@andygainer yea this house is on the market for $285k But nobody will buy it cause cielings are like 7 ft high so i asked if they’d entertain me low balling them snd it may be a go I just don’t wanna get stuck with this house it’s absolutely needs to be raised

The crane owner/operator was a friend of a friend; pretty sure was charging $150 an hour... was there less than two hour... but i more than doubled what he asked for cuz i couldn’t imagine only paying him $300 for that
