I bought the directions but on page 9 for the bottom drawer you didn't put a width. What is the width of the drawer bottom?

+DIY Creators I absolutely did. My dog makes a damn mess everywhere with her water bowl on the floor. I've heard raised bowls is a solution. Have you had this issue, does it help to raise the water for them?

wow! really great work. I need to build a Dog Bowl station and was planning on building one where the entire top came off (with bowls) and allowed you to reach inside for a towel, treats, leash, etc. (not food as I think the station will be too small for the bags we get and wondering about spillage). But now I may rethink and go this route. I feel that I would have the door/front extend passed the sides. so the entire front is the front and not the front with two edge pieces/sides showing. otherwise stellar job on this. and, BTW, I just subscribed for more DIY learning.

one question....in order to keep food and water/drool from getting into the fresh food, do you think a gasket would be necessary on the bowl rims? love your work :)
@bigzeromike5 жыл бұрын
I've been looking for a solution to this for years. I got some rubber gasket-type material (I think from the window section of HD) and curved it around the underside of the bowl's rim. It helps but isn't even close to perfect. My second "solution" was to use a pail instead of a bowl for the water. The theory being if the water is 6" below the rim of the pail it's less likely to get splashed up onto the table top and leak inside. Unfortunately, I have one dog that is scared of the pail and won't drink from it.

Looks great. I have had bad luck cutting out the circles in 3/4" plywood with the same jig saw. What blade or technique did you use to get a clean cut? Mine always seem that the blade flexes and doesn't want to cut curves smoothly. I have tried with and without a circle cutter jig. The best results I got were using a circle cutting jig/base and a handheld router. I will have to build one or more of these for my dogs.
@DIYCreators8 жыл бұрын
+John Machen Thank you. The cuts are never perfect but close. I'm using craftsman wood blade. After drilling a pilot hole, start cutting your shape I usually keep my eye on the front of the blade. Also keep the jig saw pressed to the surface. If you lift it that will cause your blade to bend.

This is awesome! I'm going to build this for my dog. What size pocket hole screws did you use? I noticed you had a link but it was for a different variety. Also to transport the plywood from the store since it says 8ft and I only have a 6ft bed on my pickup. If I have them rip it down to 6ft to bring it home would that mess up the plans?
