Yeah this is great! The in depth stuff is great as well, but for me playing at mid stakes seeing a lot of spots at surface level fixes more leaks.

Content itself was great, probably this way is faster to get it out of the way, but I think you could also do the same quick comments about the action without having to speak fast yourself. Maybe do the comments at a normal speed and edit the video so that it fits in 30 minutes or whatever commenting the action. I was able to follow, but I can see some people getting overwhelmed with the pace of play itself, and you speaking fast heh :). Great video tho! appreciate it

I really like this fast playing. Especially because the result who won becomes a riddle. Other pokersites explain why you better fold check or raise, but you show a lot of games without detailed analysing and debate. Bravo. Now I know which site I better visit when I want to see a lot of games without analyses.

Hi Ben, love the quick videos. I agreed on 90%+ in this one. However u mention u fold 78o with 8bb at min 7:05 and i dont agree with that. So I ran it to double check and all offsuit connectors were a call because he is clearly the shortest stack, 3x times behind second shortest. Hes risk premium was around 5-6%. If I would change SirWats stack to 10bb, bbs Risk premium becomes 10%+ and its imidiatly a fold. Keep the good work, looking forward for more videos like this. :)

Interesting video. Analysis was mostly good. The J9h hand for Oxota in the beginning vs the A3ss of SirWatts was interesting on the KQJA9 board. Agree SirWatts capped his range by checking the turn. Oxota had to figure unless SirWatts was cbetting with a medium-smaller pocket pair on the flop, his J9 for bottom pair was never good when the A hit the turn putting 4 cards to Broadway on the board, so combined with SirWatts’ line, the turn would have been the perfect time for Oxota to rep the 10 with the bluff. When it went check check on the turn and Oxota made bottom 2 with the 9 on the river and SirWatts checked again, I disagree and I think Oxota should have gone for some value. The reason being that if Oxota knows SirWatts is a solid player, Oxota should have figured SirWatts would have used some sort of blocker sizing for a little value on the river if he had a bigger 2 pair, as Oxota checking back the turn should have let SirWatts know that he almost certainly didn’t have the straight either, so if I were Oxota, I wouldn’t have been too worried about my small blocker sizing facing a huge check raise jam to put me to a gross decision with my bottom 2 pair on the river. With all this said, checking the turn and then the river by SirWatts should have let Oxota know that SirWatts range was likely capped at a 1 pair hand at that point, so a small value sizing on the river with his Js and 9s to target an ace or king for a little value would have been smart. A check raise jam would have been gross to be faced with in that spot, but wouldn’t have made sense by SirWatts, which is why I wouldn’t have been too scared of going for a little value on the end there with my bottom 2 pair in position. The second thing I disagree with is your take about weak suited aces having a higher EV jamming than the EV Oxota was looking at jamming with pocket 9s pre when they were 6 handed. I agree with not liking the shove given the player’s stack depths and ICM for Oxota. Oxota was up against the only person to have him covered and he had close to 50 bigs 6 handed at the final table. Oxota definitely would still want to at least take a flop with a hand as strong as pocket 9s pre with his stack size, but jamming there is definitely ICM suicide against the big stack 6 handed at the final table when you are the second big stack playing relatively deep. That said, I don’t see how jamming pocket 9s pre in this spot (pretty much break even EV by jamming in this particular instance) has lower EV than jamming weak suited aces. Cogac was the big stack but he wasn’t a huge big stack, as a double up would have given Oxota the chip lead, so even though Cogac’s 3 bet preflop range from the SB will be a little wider than standard, I couldn’t have seen Cogac making this 3 bet pre wide enough that pocket 9s should have looked super strong to Oxota compared to Cogac’s range. Cogac’s most likely range was going to include any suited A, unsuited AJ-AK, pocket 7s-pocket AA (I don’t think Cogac was deep enough for his preflop 3bet range to be wide enough to include smaller pocket pairs… at least from the SB), or even KQ. With all this said, I agree cold calling the 3 bet and taking the flop in position would have been optimal for Oxota this hand. However, given Cogac’s stack depth, position and subsequent 3bet range, there’s almost no hands in Cogac’s range a weak ace would have been better than a flip against if that’s what Oxota would have had instead of the 9s. There are plenty of hands that would have had Oxota’s weak ace dominated and only a few that Oxota would have been a small favorite in a flip against. With pocket 9s, there’s a good portion of Cogac’s range Oxota was dominating, and still a decent number of hands he was flipping against, with only a small number of hands in Cogac’s range which had his 9s dominated, so I don’t see how it’s possible in that situation for a weak ace to have higher EV jamming in that spot than pocket 9s.

First of all, amazing to hear your feedback, but really interested in how the format tends to bring to the fore your intuitive reactions and something that’s closer to your on-the-felt thought process as opposed to slower, more reflective conceptual work. This felt really, really helpful.

21:15 maybe oxota is afraid of sets, two pairs getting there? Also he blocked the best flush draws and doesn't think there's value in betting really big. But I agreee on the river raise.

You unfortunately missed a vital chip leader swing at around @17:25 but other than that it was extremely insightful. The fast paced commentary during the heads up also mimicked the pace of unexperienced players making brash decisions without considering EV and heads-up card value.

I was on a final table the other day and shoved A4o as one of the big stacks (think I was in late position, maybe button). Guy to my left had the other big stack. Ran into QQ. I had me thinking I had misplayed it. Should I only be doing that with shorter stacks to my left?

Awesome. Thanks Ben. 5:54 Quick question: Why is a6o an easy open from MP? Applying pressure on the bubble? Because I think a9o-a10o are usually the lowest aces offsuit we are opening 40+ BB deep here in GTOish land.

@Ben: Are u actually aware of the fact, that u are setting up the Standards on how to play certain Spots? I am wondering how you would adjust vs Players which follow your advices... It's always kinda funny: On the one hand we as students try to implement your advices on the other hand I'm always thinking about, how to counterfit those approaches 🤔 F.E. That JTs Triple barrel against the 99's on the Double Paired Board. I actually like the Triple Barrel when the K pairs on the River a lot. I don't see RYE peeps calling 99's 3 times oop in such a 3way protected pot. I feel overaggression in such a spot works very well here. Thanke once more for all your sharing! ♥️
