We used a chalk line and a Skil saw. It was pretty easy actually.

My opinion that taper to nothing won't last. Besides weather weakening it up, if someone walks on that roof sweeping leaves or snow, cracks will happen in the thin framing area. Thin framing area should be 2" and capped. However your video and work crew was a pleasure to watch.

Thanks for making this video. If you don't mind a dumb homeowner question: So it's OK to build a new roof inches above the old one without tearing the old roof out? You don't get problems with condensation or something?

With the product that I use I have never had any issues with condensation after the roof was done what I do recommend is putting a white coating on it a few months after you do the Rubber Roof white is cooler than black obviously so if you’re worried about just put a coating on it
