My sister's tama left us at 4 years old yesterday. He was sick, and she was busy, watching KZbin, when he began to cry for help, lying on the ground. She looked, and it was too late. She tried to give him medicine, but the buttons locked up, and while out mom was unscrewing the back, ready to remove the batteries, he departed. I told her to reset it with A and C, and she thought that was how to check the stats, but a new egg showed up. The two of us cried for about two hours, and we tried to force our minds to think he was back, but as a little baby. It was only when us and our aunt and her best friend went shopping together when we broke down again. The new tama, hatched yesterday, was paused during it's sleep (time setting. it was too early for him to sleep) and given to our aunt to hold onto until we were ready to come back to the little jr. Hope you fulfil your dreams, Peepy. I am sorry we left you there, beeping at us in need. I hope the medicine that the little doctors in the spaceship gave you tasted yummy, like strawberries. I hope you are watching Little Peepy on your tiny iPad supplied on your return to Tamagotchi Island. And to you, Little Peepy... We won't let you down.

Wow, you got the OG, which is about a third of the way to becoming a legally certified antique. No wonder it cost $30. And the nuts-and-bolts to these digital creatures is a small series of variables that need to be balanced "appropriately" or something like that. The whole "timer" mechanic of waiting for stuff (i.e. waiting to hatch) was ahead of its time, the likes of which wouldn't be mainstream until the mobile industry (in a way, this was among the first "mobile games" in the most literal sense of the definition). But the '90s were a different time, where there were only a few truly noteworthy video games and a single-digit number of TV channels available AT ALL ("rabbit ears" were still a thing for TVs). it is fun seeing you "go in blind" for something like this, as it was intended to be. So, thanks for documenting such an artifact. I really like the camera work around the 6 minute mark, by the way.

I love Tamagotchi!!! I had a shit load growing up lol after the music star connection, I sort of forgot they kept making them/didn’t know. When the 4U came out I was so happy to finally get a color and lit screen one lol, that was in 2013-2014. I’m now 29 years old with every Tamagotcchi Meets release, every Tamagotchi Msart watch release (except the purple anniversary) and every smart card release but the pastel. I also got the Pix (my least favorite), and moon to get a pix party soon. I’m an addict lol. I even got Hatchihonis recently. I just love virtual pets man. I hope to one day be able to find a v3 connection in good shape for a decent price. I really miss the older ones. I do have the P1 and p2 re-releases but the sound is a bit different in comparison to the originals. To get a connection would be amazing! Sorry for the book/message hahaha nice video!
