BIG TIP: If you save before you put an animal into the Barn and it's a male, just reload the save, it will change each time. You can feed animals any fruits or veggies, and it counts as 100 food for each. I keep 7 crop plots next to the barn even in the winter, I have a greenhouse as backup, I grow corn, but you can grow whatever, I just don't come across as much corn as I do most other crops so extra corn that grows I keep for Rations. Milk production is brutally slow at first, but eventually you can't keep up and have to start storing them in the fridge, they last 8 hours though. Eggs will be coming in so fast you won't have enough room to store them. Let em go bad and use as many as you can for Rations.

Curtains could be interesting as well. They reduce the light mechanism by 40% and closed shutter reduce by 60% if you have both, 100%. Also, another raid mechanic could visibility. The more you expand, the faster the Horde comes.

I built the barn first before looking for animals and as a result, once you tranquilise them, they immediately appear in the barn. One thing I didn't realise at the time though was that you had to place any food you placed in the barn in the top left square, effectively feeding them. As a result, the one female chicken I managed to catch at the time, subsequently died on me. Lesson learned.

I've been watching all my favorite youtubers play this new update and I've yet to see anyone use the continue button on the right on all the crafting tables. Goes a lot faster if you have to craft more than one item. You first make the one item your trying to craft and if you have enough resources in your inventory all you have to do is click on the continue button and it will automattically take the amount from your inventory to craft that item over and over using the continue button without you having to go back in your and place item's one at a time. It's really a time saving button.

Actually a raccoon is more closely related to a bear. They are omnivorous just like most bears. Given a choice a North American Coon would choose a clam or muscle or a crayfish (or seafood based cat food) over anything else, although, like a bear, they love sweets, ... but they will eat *anything.* (BY-the-way, chickens are also omnivores. They like grains but they eat grubs and bugs as well). They have a more articulated hand than say a black bear so they inhabit trees and have the ability to grab and hold on to things. They are not deathly afraid of humans and are driven by a curiosity that rivals that of a cat. With their dexterity they like to steal shiny and man made objects which they seem to enjoy manipulating with their hands. (wild) Rats are sneaky, low intelligence and disgustingly filthy; Raccoons are naturally clean animals and basically don't give a rat's a$$ what humans think about them.

Fill up the barn food, fruits and veggies, max 2000. Chickens will reproduce over time in barn, chicks turn into adult chickens, not sure about goats yet.

They are considerably close to human IQ levels as well. A raccoon will exploit any opportunity to get food and are quite genius and will collaborate with others to achieve that goal. Had a pet baby raccoon as a teenager, found in the wild with a dead mother that got mean as it got older, Lesson 1: You can take the animal out of the wild but you can't take the wild out of the animal.

KAGE.... didn't you say that was male chucken? Aka a rooster? You are going to be waiting forever for him to lay an egg. He needs to be around so hens keep laying but no matter what you do, a rooster is not laying eggs.

The barbed wire fence deals its own damage and is just as cheap to repair. Stick with just them.

There is a timer next to the animal that tells you when the next egg or milk will be produced.

This is only my opinion. I think upgrading the wooden fence to steel will be a better defense because them barbwire durability is 750 but the steel fence is 2500 durability which times stronger than the barbwire fence it's easy to make steel ingot 4 steel ingots to upgrade the cement fence.

I'll have to check but I don't believe animals travel to another dimension in winter... they're still there. Don't chickens actually eat corn normally? That's what we fed our geese while we had them when I was a kid.

Enjoying the videos TY this game is fun thanks for showing us. Is there a reason I should not leave my sawmill benches down in the woods? Will they target something away from base before attacking my character and how often will this occur ? Just seems so inefficient to carry 3 logs to base instead of 12 planks when the trees are way down the cliff for me. What about extractors are they safe in the cave near my base or do I need to spike and fence all these things and continue to guard them regularly?

Starting to look really nice, I think you're gonna have to just experiment with the light sources and see how much electric vs firepots and the lanterns raises what, because if the windmill/solar panels making electricity raise the noise and light, and the firepots and lanterns raise the light only it might be a choice of which items raise them faster. I'm not sure I'm liking this mechanic, but it's early days so we'll see how it gets balanced. Base is looking dope as usual, thanks for sharing the fun! 🐓🐓🐓👀

nope they will not survive i tried the goat dies in the cart and the chicken will die in the back pack so its better to get the barn and have a crate of pumpkins and a crate of watermelons for their food also other foods veg/fruit and you will have male and female goats and chickens you have 5 slots for each and if you have a male and female of each they breed so i got one pair each and 2 baby's from each and you do not get eggs every day they chicken goes into the barn from backpack and goat you need to put in lol you will need food in barn before animals as they eat right away or die i made a 5x5 area for my watermelon and pumpkin bins i have 2 each as i have 2 green houses 1 for goats and chickens 1 for me lol.
