I love camels, they are smarter than horses in reality. They are humble creatures and can do almost anything for a farmer🥰(cultivation,harvesting, transportation of items weighing up to 1500 pounds) Hand feeding camels in Arabian lands is a tradition, and they sell for as much as $60,000 + usd. Train them correctly and you'll have a giant friend for life.✌✌

Hi! I live in Europe and have been working with camels for the first time since yesterday (I'm a horse therapist, but sometimes house sit for people). It's a whole new experience for me, kind of impressive really (and a bit scary also, since I'm new in the camels universe!)! I work horses the same way you do with camels: trust, leadership, etc...Your videos are very interesting and already taught me some things about these beautiful animals. Could you make one like a small list of their strange behaviors and their meaning?
@CamelConnection5 жыл бұрын
Hi there! can you tell us what 'strange behaviours' that you've noticed specifically? Since we've been working with camels for so long it's hard to know what's 'strange' in a camel's behaviours :-)

I love your presentation. As Somalian our culture We have got deep love for camels, when we are going to marry we must give the bride parent 100 camels. Can't believe Australia is killing the camels it's sad.

Yes it is very sad that Australia kills camels
@dylanfraser1285 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately as they are introduced species that has no natural predators they are causing massive destruction to the native vegetation and put huge survival pressure on the native wildlife so they need to be culled so that there is a balance in the ecosystem

Hi I just have a question: I live in a fairly cold climate (it gets maybe -15 degrees Clausius in the winter) and I would like to know maybe if u could own a camel in those conditions
@brendanmorin99354 жыл бұрын
Camels are actually surprisingly tolerant of cold weather!! A Bactrian camel would be totally fine in your climate, as for a dromedary camel I’m not totally sure. I have heard of people having dromedary camels in areas that get below freezing but I don’t know specifics

Excellent, excellent advice, unlike some other self proclaimed camel experts on youtube. I could do without the kissyface stuff, but as long as it is countered by knowledgeable advice, I guess you have to do something to cater to the anthropomorphic pet hugging public to increase views. I do question your 3 strikes rule. I submit that by allowing 3 challenges you are starting to reinforce the behavior. Give one command, if it is not respected the correction should occur right then. They should not get another chance to disobey. We could debate finer details of training philosophies all day long, but bottom line is that I love your work. Thanks for your meaningful contributions.

this is fascinating... i always knew they behaved strangely and were prone to distasteful, obstinate, or pushy behavior. but i never knew these thoughts had any raal validity. for lack of a better way to characterize it, it seems as though they're more savage or less intuitive than other animals; less sensitive to feedback and a less integrated emotional understanding... the opposite animal character archetype might be the cat; sensitive, careful, delicate, nuanced, etc.

to have camel herd full respect you must treat the herd like a father or something .. you love it but you also enforce orders .. you must get camels used to command shouts and your voice .. also you must carry a stick and enforce boundaries" between you and other camels or between two camels" with it .. use minimum force but you must use it .. also don't use excessive force because camels hold amplified amounts of love or grudge due to their desert nature .
