I love how you handle your cows I wish others would take notes.
@paulhaldeman70423 жыл бұрын
Honestly yes her handling is humane and you are right that it is how people should be able to do it. But to make a living off only cows you would typically have to own several dozen if not hundred more. Thus you would unfortunately not have enough time or money to care for them this nicely or baby them like this. I’m not sure but it looks like this is more of a retirement age couple who admit themselves they aren’t making much money at all (most farmers ngl). But definitely if you wanted to raise a family or had any extra expenses wouldn’t be able to do this ( although kids definitely tame down cows really nicely)
@brodystone3 жыл бұрын
@@paulhaldeman7042 Agreed, this is really just a hobby farm, but it would be nice in all farmers did. My 97 year old cattle farming neighbor has a huge pasutre with 300+ cows, and he knows them all. It's crazy.

I call them by name and he comes running . Our horses are same way. Been ranching my entire life along with army 8yrs as a pilot for apache and 25 yrs as LE. God Bless and keep up being you. Have always loved Brahmas. As a child I was around them a lot, because of Mr. Jim Shoulders, who would have rodeo stock at Lilie Lewis's farm. What a treat! Most were like big dogs. As children we would ride on them, but if a man was around, they would try to get to that man! I still at 69, have a great love of them.

My uncle had a couple bulls on the farm, he had dairy, but loved this breed. He had 2 prized show bulls. They had tons of blue ribbons. They where the sweetest thing ever!! They would let us kids climb and sit on them as the grazed their pasture. They where always the first 2 bulls I would go see on uncle Bobby's farm. My family had few farms over time there where no hands to pass them down to.

Really enjoyed learning more about the Brahmans. In regard to one comment below, the owners did mention that the Brahman is very intelligent so they react according to how they think they are treated. Makes sense. Loving if you are respectful and loving....challenging if you are challenging them. Anyway, so nice to hear that the owners love what they are doing and that they really love the animals and treat them accordingly. Thanks....nice video!!

Fascinating!! They are so personable!! I fear they would be so lovable that it would be hard to raise them for meat.
