Take all your earnings, buy land or lease land from the government in your country, and do what you love best. As an immigrant in a foreign country, most of us are one pay check away from being homeless. Sky High The Arawaks not to be mistaken with us East Indians were wiped out by the Europeans & they were the original inhabitants of Xaymaca. We East Indians were taken to the sugar parishes of Jamaica after the abolition of slavery in the 1800’s by the British from the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar & Madras. Old Harbour Bay is the first place where the first of us were brought on the ship called The Maidstone. After working on the sugarcane plantations many of us went on to do agricultural work. We make up 2% of Jamaica & now reside in places like Clarendon, ST Mary, Portland etc.

Ok. He is rearing goats. That is good. However, let him take it to the end product where the money is made; goat cheese. I advice him to reach out to goat farmers in Europe. Where he can go there and study for one year to make goat cheese. See if the government will back you with seed money for the equipment and building on your farm to manufacture goat cheese. It is time to add value to our products. For example, saw mills should get into furniture and cabinets making as a value added products. Nuff said from a trini

Well-intentioned comment but doesn’t sound sensible. There isn’t big market for goat cheese in Jamaica and exporting it would require know-how and connections plus those export markets likely have their own domestic production and will be subsidized if it’s Europe or USA. JA gov’t or any govt doesn’t just give out $ when ppl ask much less to someone who has no experts in area. Think twice before you think you know more than small business ppl.

@yardmangooner8908
@yardmangooner8908 4 жыл бұрын
jacan4eva you say you know small business but one of the main underlying reason most small business fail is a too compact market goat cheese is a possibility yes bcuz there is no one locally producing it... Jamaica highest earning industry is tourism which is a large market for goat meat and GOAT CHEESE.... the main issue facing Jamaica is that lack of value added product bcuz we sell dark sugar and import refine sugar sell bananas And import bananas chips same with aluminum minerals and import aluminum sheet so there’s a lot of possibility for this young man maybe not immediately in goat cheese but goat meat goat milk etc

Wow. I never saw this side of Jamaica. For some reason all I know about jamaica is the music. This was refreshing. Plus Indians actually live here with a jamaican accent. Very lovely.

Shawn English The Arawaks not to be mistaken with us East Indians were wiped out by the Europeans & they were the original inhabitants of Xaymaca. After working on the sugarcane plantations many of us went on to do agricultural work & open small businesses . We make up 2% of Jamaica & now reside in places like Clarendon(Vere), Portland(Port Antonio), ST Mary, Spanish Town etc.

I enjoyed watching..would love to see more of this goat farming it very educational...I love goats,.I grew up helping my mom who had a few ..not for profit ,just for us ,so we have meat especially at Christmas time when she always have one to kill and share amongst family...I remember taking them to the fields but they had to hv ropes or they would run away ..you should see us trying to get them back... it would take all day ...you are a good farmer and know alot about raising them ,your goats are so orderly,compared to my mom.. 👍🏽...I would like to know how you keep them order so they don't run off...

Wonderful. The whole environment looks so healthy. Reminds me of my boyhood in Jamaica. I had a slingshot just like a boy in the video, and I would fill a crocus bag with guinea grass, mount it on the handlebar of my bicycle, and take it home to feed a horse. My only concern for this guy would the threat of rustlers.
