I like how candid you are about stuff that bothers you. Like when you said it was cool that people noticed your mink but you wished they wouldn't sometimes. I think thats a much more human expression of emotion than someone saying "Yeah my mink gets lots of attention its fun" or something.

+shesACE Absolutely. I discovered this series because today, a friend and I had a dispute about ermine and weasels, and I ended up reading about "stout," which I'd never heard of. Without getting into all that... I ended up Youtubing some vids and found Joseph's videos. I just love all of these.

+Joseph Carter Okedoke. So, unlike most of their fellow mustelidae, minks can be made (semi?)tame when raised from pups? Of course ferrets have been bred for hunting since the Middle Ages but even they cannot be made into house pets.
@JosephCartertheMinkMan9 жыл бұрын
+pinz2022 Actually, just about any mustelid can be tamed, you just have to know what you're doing. I've known people who have tamed badgers, fishers, martens, weasels, honey badgers and even wolverines! I'm not just talking about raising them from a baby either. The adults can be tamed with the proper training methods. Here's a series of videos showing me taming one of the most aggressive adult mink I have ever seen... kzbin.info/aero/PL03o0OXW1-dbeT3wTev7adXtWeuVoexKI

Im surely giving mink taming a shot once my kids are grown up. I breed leopard geckos currently which are beautiful and unique and each have their own personality but just can't be handled or bonded with like a dog. A mink seems like an intelligent and affectionate partner/friend I've been looking for. I really enjoy your content and hope to reference it often in the far future when I wish to raise a mink

@Joseph Carter the Mink Man Rio is so darn cute! Has anyone ever kicked you out of the store because you’ve brought her with you? Have you ever allowed one of your minks to live with you in your home permanently? Are minks strictly carnivores, or do they eat other thing as well?

Hello Joseph Carter. I really enjoy your videos and your minks. I was wondering if you call a business ahead of time (like home depot) before bringing your little mink to the store. You said that you can only bring little Rio to the office when she is still young because she has lower energy levels and gets tired quicker. Does that mean you also limit her time in places like the home depot when she gets older?
@JosephCartertheMinkMan8 жыл бұрын
I don't call a head. Pretty much if they kick me out I don't come back with my mink. If they don't kick me out, I do come back with my mink. Yeah, when they are mature I take them on less outings to the store, but they still get plenty of outings to go hunting in various places.

Did Rio speedbump in Home Depot? Do mink speedbump when they're tired like ferrets do? I imagine they eventually tire but they seem like a more athletic tenacious, introverted relative of the ferret. So maybe it takes longer.
