What Marta did against US in this WC quarter-final propably won't ever happen again.
@Hammster69official9 жыл бұрын
enoquesant2000 And it wouldn't have happened in 2007 either, if coach Greg Ryan hadn't benched goalie Hope Solo in favor of Brianna "Legendary-but-hadn't-played-in-fifty-games" Scurry for reasons which boggle the collective minds of US-WNT fans to this very day. Ryan was rightfully canned before he got off the plane home. Well, it wasn't *officially* announced until the following October, but for all intents and purposes, he was done.
@enoquesant20009 жыл бұрын
DallasHammster I am sure not even Hope Solo would've been able to stop Marta.
@senorsalazar8 жыл бұрын
+enoquesant2000 Hope did in fact stop Marta a year later in the Beijing Olympic final. She blocked, punched out and held everything the Brazilians came at her with before Carli Lloyd's strike settled the outcome.
@enoquesant20008 жыл бұрын
senorsalazar If brazilian federation invested as much as US federation invests in women's soccer, we would have already won a WC or a olympic final. However, both investments can't be compared, and I'm not talking about money, but enough infrastructure.

MrDekkert I'd say the Euro semi this year was so undeserved for the French. The German controlled the match and played better but couldn't score. I'm not hating the French just stating my opinion.
@talijah0077 жыл бұрын
Frankie J. Folgaraity It is true the Germans were the better team but the French knew if they had to beat Germany they would have to find a strategy that could outwit the German prowess and they did that successful... They gave all what they had in their tank to defeat Germany and nothing was left when they met Portugal... It was clear if Germany had defeated France, playing Portugal would have been a mere formality... They would have won that game easily..

7-1 will not win another WC men or women any time soon. They need to reorganize and go back to the game fundamentals, they have gone astray since 2002.
