Janelle was nervous but pulled off a brilliant ted talk.

You, obviously, didn't watch the clip Chris. The talk refers to empowering your child to believe that they can become anything they want in life. I know that my children will be raised with this ethos. Western, or otherwise, it's surely better to lead than follow!!!

They obviously don't think that males and females are equally valuable employees otherwise they wouldn't pay women less

so by that rationale - by being a leader you are condemning others to be your followers subjecting them to that which yourself ridicule or disapprove of

American education around money as the core of your children's life success. Promotions, pay rises, being a CEO, become at the top of a corporate boardroom, salary figures... I think the educational speech is much broader, and should cover much more and shouldn't exclude any gender specially nowadays with the latest generations of men being put in a position where they are born with the weight of chauvinism by default and put in a situation where many people are raised to be cruelly competitive against them. Being a man in this century isn't easy at all. Looking at speeches like this, films and advertising nowadays and the image they project about men is so despairing. Sexism is so unfair, both ways. I don't buy into this. Don't follow leaders and watch your parking meters!!!
