The G Wagon is an SUV that had become a status symbol. This Mercedes AMG G63 takes it to the next level to compete with the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, Jeep Wagoneer and BMW X7. On the outside you will find the distinct body lines of the G-Series, AMG wheels, brush guard, full LED lighting and side exit exhausts. On the inside you will be greeted to a full leather interior, two 12.3in digital displays, and dark wood finishes. I think my 2022 New’s Year’s resolution is to buy one of these. The Gs are just a cut above when it comes to luxury SUV. I love the 2022 Grand Wagoneers, but one cannot deny that this Mercedes (especially the AMG) is just amazing.

Thanks so much for the good review. In my opinion the gwagon has no competition. Looking at having both on road and off road exceptional performance. But I would prefer the G400d .its a work horse.good fuel economy and slightly higher ground clearance and riding on off road 18 inch.

I started googling the G63 when my son bought one in the UK, admittedly 2 years old, he picked it up today. I knew about the G wagon in vague terms as an expensive 4x4 but it seems a stunning vehicle, really looking forward to seeing and hearing it. Our boring Tucson will hide away when they visit!

Great detailed review！ I know many car enthusiasts hate this. I would take X6M comp or Turbo GT for the product itself. But G63 is the dreamcar. Not only for the iconic design but also for the image of owning it. In my country teenagers with rich father buy Lambo/Ferrari, rich people who don't know much about cars buy RR/Maybach/Bentley, rich car enthusiasts buy E63s/M5/GT3, celebrities buy 911/SLS or luxury vans. And every one of them buys G63s.😂

Yes, these are beautiful SUV's. Unfortunately, due to current market conditions, they are now in the mid $ 300,000 price range. I'd take a Jeep Grand Wagoneer and pocket the extra 200 grand.

Loved this video. Thank you for the additional tidbits. Never knew the difference between bi-turbo and twin turbo, now I know thanks to my friend Joe Raiti, bless you. Random question: do the rear windows go all the way down? I used to own a 2009 Yukon and the rear windows didn’t go all the way down due to the shape of the rear doors (unlike the XL, or the expedition which had a longer wheelbase back, they fixed it with the last generation). Also another fun fact, the rear wiper got moved to the top with the redesign in 2014 btw. Sorry for this last part in advance, repeat after me: SEEG-NOLLS 😉

The G-Wagen strongly reminds me of a upper-class Jeep Wrangler,minus the seven-slot grill and the removable panels. While the Grand Waggoneer has a more refined and elegant look to her,the G-Wagen is unapologetically old-school military in many aspects,inside and out. What's really remarkable is that the AMG G-Wagen is apparently equally at home touring Yellowstone and parked near the best restaurant in town,just from looks alone.
