I like it but the Supra needs that in line 6!! I have had 2 supras in the past, pre introduction of the turbo models. My 84 Handled better than my 86.5 however the 86.5 was the better looking car.

I think Toyota made the 4 cylinder supras of the new generation as the throwback to the 90s. Those 4 cylinder supras in the 90s we're monsters and dominated pretty much everything including Ferrari f40s in the jgtc. Long live the 3sgte

My 1st new car was a 1983 Celica GT with a 5 speed manual trans. My next new car was a GTS coupe with the 5 speed. Loved those cars. Then I went to the used market and bought a 1984 Supra. In Automatic. Then I went back to my roots and bought a nice slightly used 1986.6 with a 5 speed again. Miss that car. It was the non-turbo but it sounded great with the flow master muffler. I would get 👍🏻’s from even Mustang guys on the sound. Had a deep throaty burble!

You guys (USA) are very lucky that your cars are very cheap, Supra 3.0L 2020 in my country cost RM 568,000 (USD 130,000) without insurance. I can only afford a Toyota 86 which cost me RM 270,000 (USD 60,000). BTW, I'm from Malaysia and Singapore is worst in term of car pricing. I can only dream to own a Supra but Toyota 86 is also rare here in Malaysia which makes it a bit special.

Couldn't they do what they did on my '18 IS300 and have those little stabilizing fins added to the side mirror base? Lexus said that helped reduce drag and lower the decibel level of wind noise in the cabin.

No Supra should have a 4cyl. I’d definitely go with the 3.0. The passenger seat has the same power lumbar and bolster controls as the driver seat. Nice job on the double Supra reviews! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

I've got a alfa romeo giulia ti sport with the 2.0 liter turbo, 280 hp, 300 lb/ft trq. man its fast, so I can imagine this car is smaller and lighter, is probably even quicker.

They ruined the name of the Supra when they put a BMW motor in it. They now made it worst by putting a four cylinder. Since when did Supras ever come with a 4 banger? I mean I get that some people can’t afford the upper trim levels with the inline 6, but it’s not about what people can’t afford. Test drove one yesterday. Was impressed. Afraid it was too cramped inside but actually a bit more width than my ‘19 Civic Sport. The shifts are hard, quick enough for me. Waiting fir a Nitro Yellow. That’s the color to get. I say the 2.0 is the sweet spot between the 3.0 and the new BRZ/86. $10k is a lot of money saved by going with the 2.0. Thanks for the review.

Nice video Joe, but how does this 2.0 compare to the Maxda Miata for driving fun? For cost? This looks a little faster than the Miata, but does it corner as well? You need to do a head to head comparison between the two models. I only wish Maxda offered a turbo model to their lineup as well.

I disagree with Doug DiMuro, he said the 3.0 Supra was not as preferred compared to Mustang 350 or Porsche Cayman S.. but problem is this is mid 50's and mid 3's to sixty. Cayman S is 75K starting. Ford starts at $61 & 75 & is slower and GTs are almost as fast, the hottest competitors are faster, it's a lot of money for a Mustang. I think this is a good option for the price.

It's only 50 hp more than the FRS/BRZ, and still heavier. Yet the 0-60 time is so much better. Proving the inline4 is so much better. Put the MSRP under $25K and I'll buy it. I'll even put a BMW badge on the car.

In Europe the price of Supra 2.0 is 50930€ and Supra 3.0 is 63000€ with 24% VAT. Here in Finland the final price is 65k euros for Supra 2.0 and 85k euros for Supra 3.0 after the car tax is added. With shipment and delivery and an extra set of winter tires and 18" or 19" alloys 2.0 Supra ends up costing at least $75,000 and 3.0 Supra $95,000 here if you convert the cost to US dollars. :( By comparison, the final price for the cheapest Ford Mustang 2.3 Ecoboost (291 horsepower) is around $66,000 here. Bringing cars from the USA will result in same expenses or worse. You can imagine how much an average Finnish sports car enthusiast envies the Americans. :D I suppose Supra 2.0 is much safer than Supra 3.0 on extremely icy roads in the middle of dark winter. Since Supras are built by Toyota and BMW, the electronics and the engine might be reliable enough even at -30 degrees Fahrenheit. I hope someone will test this car in very sinister winter conditions in the future.
