That's a great buy if the car has a clean CARFAX. Those prices don't exit here in CA. A 2017 Focus RS with under 15k miles is 34-37k. I'd be tempted to buy this white RS, however the shipping costs would be way too high. For anyone living in FL though, 32k is a great deal.

Near me it’s a brand new one 2017 for 36190 and they have another one for 36000. The 36190 is a fully loaded with sunroof and rs2. The other one is too but black. I’m not sure what’s missing in the black one.

Imo, the styling of the RS is prefect. It's not as wild as the type r or as tame as the Golf R. It's just right, and it's easily distinguished from an ST. Personally from a perfomance standpoint, I wouldn't trade my RS for an STI. The RS trounces it in all aspects, but to each their own I guess

I'm with you. I sold my 2013 Focus ST with 422whp built block to buy a new WRX, did not handle as good as the ST so sold the WRX and bought a Evo X. Evo X with full bolt ons with rims and lowering springs looked great and power was very good but I was missing how fun the ST was to drive. Sold the Evo and bought the RS. Now I'm happy now I'm satisfied....Dropped an NX2 turbo in it and could not be happier!!!

Thats all BS !!.... RDU isn't an issue at all, Headgasket issue is last years news, yes the ride is firm with sport damper setting but that's why it handles like its on rails. Interior quality is nice i don't know where that nonsense comes from..... This car is frequently compared to cars that cost twice as much FACTS !!! Ive owned mine over a year and i love it so much.....Nothing out there beats it for the money. It makes my friends 2015 STI feel like a tractor which just had a full engine replacement at 45k miles bone stock.

Interior on RS probably wins. WRX and STI aren’t known for the luxuries. They are about the driving. I’ve never driven the RS but the Focus ST has a nicer interior than my 2015 WRX with the ST2 pack.

I have a black 2017 RS. It's hands down more powerful than the old tech 2018 STI. Has more power than the 2019 STI S209 at Stock power. The Interior of RS is very nice to me and you don't buy a performance car for the interior, you buy it for the fun factor. You people that hate on the RS just can't stand to see a FORD beat out your precious little 4 banger. . Stock RS tune at the wheels on 93 octane is 286 whp/ 320 wheel foot pounds of torque. Way higher than any stock STI. Stop being so butthurt about your slow Subie and get a faster car. . I was going to buy an STI but then I saw the specs on the RS and it was a no brainer which car to get. RS for the win and it looks totally badass.

If you want a great hot hatch RS is the way to go, mine now has almost 70,000 miles on it with upgrades (intake, exhaust and tune just to name a few) and it still runs great, it will beat most of anything around where I live, love it and have no plans to get rid of it

It’s such a shame that Ford has completely cheated the US market yet again by killing all of their cars ( I know except the Mustang and one lame version of the new Focus) We get all the high riding, bloated SUV’s. Be careful if there is still some ford warranty on the engine. If the car had been tuned at all or any aftermarket parts. Should anything happen to what would normally be covered under warranty, they will deny it before you finish dialing the number.

This is not true. Up to 375hp with mountune does not void warranty. Catback exhaust does not void warranty. There is plenty of things you can do without voiding warranty. Source: my own ford dealer

The 2019 STi’s have the same engine from the type RA....revised third gear and more power. Google for the type ra dyno’s....the improvements they made to the engine offer far more than the stated +5hp. It’s more power over the entire rev range really and we are talking about 10...15...20whp and up to over 30ft lbs of torque to the wheels. I’d say it’s a considerable upgrade over the standard 2018 STi’s....

it might be one of the subscriber who saw your video on the 2019 STi and proceeds to trade in his Ford Focus RS for a spanking new STi. being a 2017 model it prob has the correct head gasket, but prob it still worries the owner since there are still reports that the replaced engine had coolant leaking into the cylinders so far MarkCup70 the owner of the Focus RS has no issues with the engine, finger crossed the engine is sound but his brakes failed on the track day and have to be repaired kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5OoqailpNCegNk def a good buy if the price is right in the used market and some had some mild bolt on mods and tune to get more power out of the 2.3L Ecoboost engine.

This MarkCup70 must have a dark cloud over his head. I have never seen an RS owner have so many issues. I drove various Focus RS' around a racetrack and then the same cars on an autocross track in 105 degree heat and not one had an issue. They run stock pads, and rotors. I guess there are going to be cars out there that have more issues than others. I guess it's just a numbers game. Think of it from a psychology standpoint. People are always going to post when they have issues. Not many post when day after day things are going great! At the end of the day it is what it is.

The pop & crackle was something that the head engineer at Ford wanted in the car. The owner added a blow off valve and I think that is about it.

Did Ford fix the head gasket issue from factory on the 2018 models, or does every RS ever made have to get the gasket fixed? Also, I watched your video comparing the RS and STi and you still chose the RS. The owner of this car decided the STi apparently for some reason. I tend to like the STi more, but never driven either. Also, I see the Civic Type R really making strides on both these cars, despite a fairly ugly design and FWD. But Honda quality and overall package is nice and I know Subarus are always at the top of reliability and Consumer Reports testing.

Congratulations on your purchase, but you need to understand that people buy the STI or the RS for its performance and not for the Interior. That’s like buying a street bike like a Yamaha R6 and complain because it has very little storage space.

The Euro model RS has the cup holder sliding cover. Iv'e seen a video where a US RS owner ordered one and swapped it out. Not sure why America gets less compared then other countries. I think the MK2 Focus fenders were flared out more then the MK3 also.

Yes all 2016's and 2017's. You can run the VIN with Ford and it will tell you. I will dig up the Ford site for you that has the place to enter the VIN.

Usually the lower the mileage the better. This one had under 12,000 miles on it and it was in great condition. Just make sure that the head gasket was replaced. if you can search to vin to get confirmation that would be best.

The previous owner definitely took a big loss on the car & must of not liked something about it. We hear mixed reviews on the RS, especially as a daily driver. The STI is likely the better & more comfortable daily.

I like the performance of the RS but I prefer the look of the mk2.Not to keen on the fake exhaust sound coming from the speakers.Apart from that it’s a super hatch.400bhp! better get my TTs stage two very quickly 😂

It's takes 5 seconds to disconnect the fake engine noise generator in the RS. Best mod I ever did to my RS!

Buddy of mine actually works at a dealership and he said some didnt even get the recall and decided to turn it in with under 10K. I got mine replaced at 3K miles, at 8K miles now, purring like a kitten and no problems. Even if anything happens, we have up to 60K on engine for the warranty

I've been following the RS fir a while and it looks like a beautiful machine. I'd love to get one but the price is a bit steep and the problems,honestly, have steered me away. I have '08 cobalt ss: FBO, bigger turbo, suspension upgrades @ 406/402 on a very conservative 91oct tune; its stock engine, trans, and clutch lol. I've had it for 5 years with zero problems but I would love AWD (FWD sucks), more space for family, and comfortability while being able to upgrade without have to spend a couple thousand on a mere tune, intake and exhaust lol.

My mk7.5 fiesta ST is one of the best car's i've ever driven, but the interior is just dissapointing. Same with the focus rs, Amazing car, but the interior just does'nt make it the perfect car

I drive a 2017 RS and at first I thought it was just because of the package mine had that I didn't get them but then I looked it up I thought it was just the Euro model 🤷‍♂️ either way great vid!
