I live in the mountains of West Virginia. I bought this exact car (in white). I ordered it from the factory. I LOVE THIS THING. This has easily been the best vehicle I've ever owned. Granted it's brand new. But it is an extremely capable, well built, well thought out vehicle. If you are on the fence about getting one of these, pull the trigger and get it. You won't be dissapointed. I also have a Ram 1500, and I will drive this up the mountains and through the snow any day.

I traded in my '21 Crosstrek Outdoor (Sport in US) for this Wilderness. Although I enjoy every minute driving it as it serves me well for my hunting and fishing trips, I find the offroad suspension to be rather on the firm side compared to my previous Crosstrek. Just food for thought for anyone considering this CTW as it caught me by surprise. It is very noticeable. My other gripes: - Heated steering wheel only at 9 and 3 o'clock positions. Why not for the entire wheel Subaru?? - No front facing camera! I had it on my Outdoor and I really miss it. - No full size spare like in the Forester or Outback Wilderness. - Power. This car screams for a turbocharged engine! 250hp would be nice.. would help with towing too. Otherwise it is a very fun car to drive, feels solid, laughs at anything winter brings to it and goes to unexpected places.. this is really a mountain goat! 😃

I am a big Subaru fan. Only buys this brand for the last 12 years. Had an Outback, then a WRX, then an Ascent and the last one a Crosstrek. As much as I love them, if you plans to tow on a constant base do not buy a Subaru. The Subaru CVT is very reliable but, any CVT will struggle if you uses it with towing runs.

My biggest zonk and this goes for the Forester Wilderness also, but there is no heated steering wheel in a vehicle that is marketed for overlanding/camping/off-roading. I know the outback has one, and I'm sure its by design since its a a little bit more money. But I think the Crosstrek/Forester Wilderness models should have a heated steering wheel. As someone who is in the market to buy a new vehicle, it would be a sure thing.

@@danielfair4675you could say the same about pretty much anything. We survived without cars for thousands of years, but it's nicer to have them. 6 in 12 years? Those stats might speak otherwise lol. I can only imagine you are doing leases….not much goes wrong on a vehicle in the first 2-3 years unless it’s a total lemon. I was debating buying the Crosstrek wilderness. It does appear to be a good value for the money and you get a lot for what you pay. At the end of the day I went with the 2023 Compass Trailhawk instead because I did not want a CVT again. I have an old 2012 Compass (CVT) with 136k miles I’ve had for 11 years. It has had few problems and been a reliable vehicle. Hoping my new Trailhawk is just as reliable.
