In case you are choosing between RAV4 and the Rogue. Let me just give you guys some of my personal experiences driving both the RAV4 and the Rogue. The interior of the Nissan Rogue is on another level. The comfort of the seat of the Rogue is on another level. Some more minor detail things that Rogue does better. For example, the blind spot monitoring of the Rogue has an audio alert, while RAV4 only has a little light on the side mirror. Also, there's an audio alert when you engage or disengage the adaptive cursing control and lane-keeping assist on the Rogue. While on the RAV4 you have to constantly looking for that small green light in the display to confirm the status of cursing control and lane-keeping assist. When at a sharp turn it might disengage the lane-keeping assist without you knowing it (there's no audio alert). Also, the lane-keeping assist on the RAV4 tends to take me out every time there is an exit on the freeway lol. I drive both. I think unless you really hate the CVT which I'm not or really want to keep a vehicle for more than 10 years. Rogue is better than RAV4 in many many aspects. Little things do make a huge difference in the driving experience.

And these days, people want the latest and the greatest. If Nissan add the same powertain as the new Pathfinder, it will definitely turn around for the brand.
@bigd73862 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry, but this gen Rogue is hands down better than the CRV. The CRV is missing so many features on the top end. It seems they cost cut on the features to put the Hybrid in the top trims so they could price it competitively. The Rogues materials and design are much nicer. The entire doors of the CRV look cheap. And non-hybrids look like base Tiguans. Compared to the Rogue Platinum the Sport Touring is missing a pano roof, no HUD, no full screen gauges, no rear sunshades, no rear temp controls, missing a rear seat pocket, no 360° camera, and lower resolution cameras. But people will turn a blind eye to all of this because it’s a Honda. And it’s funny that Nissan has made a very solid product and people go straight to the CVT. In the newer gen products there doesn’t seem to be as many problems with the CVTs. Besides, it seems most of the CVT failures seem to be due to improper maintenance, but that’s not a pass to Nissan at all. And yea there’s a gamble with a new engine, but that can be said about any new engine debuting. Overall this gen Rogue takes the 🏆. And I know it’s unpopular opinion but it’s truth 🤷🏾♂️.

Joe, what I want to know about the Rogue and it’s AWD function is that does it have a button to lock the wheels for better 4 wheel drive traction. Please let me know! Thx!

Thanks Joe for another great review on the Nissan offering. I think 3 standards should be in play here going forward with future models on all vehicles in general: 1) Abolish all chrome trims 2) Eliminate all hood prop-rods and replace them with struts. 3) Paddle-shifters mated with simulated gear-shifts on CVT's (Either it is real or not- no need to fake it) is just so hilarious to see. Experiencing the "Simulated gears" transition while noticing the front-end of the car staying perfectly still is just a head-scratcher to me. - What's the advantage of using a prop rod other than costs-savings? I think car manufacturers are waiting for some justification such as a heavy wind to blow by or your kid or buddy accidentally knock-over the rod and kill you before the industry makes any changes for all vehicles. What also bothered me a few days ago was watching your video and noticing that Honda used a prop-rod on a larger SUV- The 2023 Pilot? Larger vehicles should automatically have struts especially since they have heavier hoods. CVT's always kill Joe's on-throttle moments. At that moment, I pictured all the birthday balloons simultaneously deflate at a little kid's party ruining the occasion; in Joe's mind he was probably thinking, "I can't wait to get outta this car pronto!"

This vehicle is absolutely beautiful. The interior is incredible. It’s unfortunate about the 3 cylinder engine. I recently purchased a ‘22 CRV exl and am very happy with it. I was without a vehicle for 2 months waiting for it to be built and delivered. It was very well worth the wait. Thanks for another great video. Be safe.

I can't agree more about the chrome Joe. I also hate gloss black in the interiors. Fog lights are a better safety feature than other features to me.

What's the advantage of a CVT? Why would Nissan and Honda install one in their car rather than a regular transmission?
@jimgarcia8252 Жыл бұрын
Just bought a '23 SL trim and I love it. And Raiti - You do the one thing that is a huge pet peeve of mine - You click the turn signal all the way up or down to change lanes. - you only need to push it up or down slightly to get 3 flashes of the signal. Just a dumb thing that bothers me. Good review otherwise.
@drkelly2006 Жыл бұрын
You should turn on your signal and leave it on until you change lanes. You should also turn it on much more prior than a split second before you actually change lanes. It is a SIGNAL. It is meant to let other drivers know what you're planning to do. If it only flashes briefly or it flashes a split second before you actually do it, you're not warning anyone and if I were going to hit you, I'd have done it already, because I didn't know what you were doing until you were doing it. Improper use of a signal is one of MY pet peeves.

I love the interior and exterior. I just have a huge problem with the CVT. Might as well not put a turbo in it. Kinda defeats the purpose of even having a turbo if it has a CVT transmission. Especially on the Maxima. It's a V6, why ruin the car with a dreadful CVT?

The Nissan dealerships have this vehicle around $45k after their fees. They made the vehicle an inch longer yet removed a cylinder.

I think it’s cool that Nissan has made their first 3 cylinder turbocharged engine but in my opinion I would choose the Honda CRV since I own a 2017 model year CRV with a 1.5l turbocharged 4 cylinder.
