When I was in fourth grade, my cousin introduced me to gayatri mantra. I am 54 now till now I am doing this mantra.I have a photo of gayatri mata which I worship daily. I feel that I am safe and sound only because of this picture of mata in my house. I have told my son not remove the picture when I am no more. Such is my affinity to that picture

I’m a white American. I knew who my Ishta Devata was at 20 and was always excited when I saw Durga on tv in the 70s. Later I became obsessed with Kali. Did enormous sadhana and had nirvikalpi samadhi at 22. Had to stop sadhana due to kundalini ascending and getting concussions. 7 years later I meet my guru and receive diksa in a Kali lineage. 6 months later I get darshan savikalpi samadhi of Kali just like Ramakrishna. Sir for Shiva Upasana it is very important to be kind to animals and all innocent beings and this is imperative for his sadhana. Shiva will not even budge an inch if one does not have this quality in them. This is my own experience where I have received his blessing by just being kind to animals. Initially I never chanted any mantra but now since he is responding I have started chanting his mantra. The key to shiva is kindness .

@@Krishna_mine there are many , I was able to connect with his consciousness and so, was able to believe in spiritual process. After 4 years in his bhakti , now whichever Shiva temple I visit I am able to meditate..through him I am more aware and compassionate of my environment. I am able to find inner fulfillment which otherwise not possible here no matter what we achieve in the material world. Its an inner knowing that I am his bhakt and he is my isht devta. Its his love and presence that shows up in the form of tears in eyes. Its a knowing that he existed once here and showed n number of times that he is ever available to all those who come to him with that bhava of unflinching bhakti. He has made me like him, n to become like him is what I consider is to become a pure life force which is always auspicious and loving deep down even when it comes to destroying bad energies. The biggest blessing was to realise how innocent and pure beings animals are and the way I started looking at them completely changed. It has made me to unify with Nature. Nature is Shakti and that pure consciousness which is there in every being is Shiva and you can experience him in the eyes of animals. Just try and look at them with love and see how they respond. If you keep observing them for a considerable period of time it will change you completely, in a way you become more closer to divine

💯🙏🕉 My Family have been purely vegetarian since we know being from a Brahman family following Vaidigam (Vedic Parampara). Have been vegetarian since childhood. I can fully complement your experience on being completely in sync with the param brahman through total compassion and reverence to all forms of life. Kriya Yoga practitioners or Ashtanga Yoga sadhana practitioners can very well relate. Even non - vegetarians have become vegetarian post following the sadhana.

Vishnu sahasranaam is one of the mosteffective practice for this. Lord vishnu in various forms whichever suits one's horoscope is there in the sahasranam and one doesnt feel the bad effects as much and even gets success.

Two years into hanuman Sadhna, now I feel deeply connected and I can see events reassuring that he is there, he is listening, he is responding. I am still in the process but it takes whole lot of patience, celibacy, mental peace , no malicious thought. Completely surrender to power and having unshakable faith irrespective of situation. It won’t be easy, life is going’s to be very challenging but how you carry yourself with surrendering to power counts. And when blessings come they come in thousands multiplication. My isht dev is hanuman and kuldevi is different but I have to surrender myself completely to kuldevi, only than I saw changes, although I was worshiping lord hanuman for long, speaking of isht dev, one has to have that automatic connection with lord, you will feel automatically.

Namaskaaram sir, Usually ishta devata is always linked either with the birth star or monsignor lord or sometimes 9th lord in the horoscope. For example, planet of my birth star is Budha-Mercury, the Adhishtaana devatha of Budha is Vishnu. I worship Vishnu and got initiated with Narayana Ashtaakshari 23 years ago. Faced many problems and losses. Even Vaishnava, smaartha and madhwa Brahmins advised me to stop chanting Vishnu mantra but I couldn't... That's the connection between ishta daivam and birth star. ( Coincidentally, my lagna lord is in Buddha's house and my 9th lord is also budha ) I try too see Vishnu in every other form of the God. I completely agree with you as far as Astrology is concerned. The first and foremost reason why I admire you is, You are not commercial. You are a true upasaka who wants to educate the juniors... Till the time the ragging was banned by the government in engineering colleges, seniors used to guide their juniors till the completion of the project. We never went to professors for help. Seniors who ragged us and made us cry initially, helped us till the end. We used to respect our senior much more than our professors. You remind me of the same kind of guidance, of course this subject is so precious and eternal... !!
